like $10, we didnt give to our last mailman b/c he never got the mail right, we always got neighbors and people whos address wasnt even in the area.

I have a friend that works for the postal service (not as a carrier) and he forwarded me this huge powerpoint file that was sent out usps wide letting employees know what they can accept at the holidays and what they can't. They can actually get fired for accepting cash gifts. However, you can give gift cards for places like Starbucks for under $20.
My friend sent me this after I mentioned the self addressed (not stamped!) envelope left in my mailbox by our mail carrier.

I read that it was illegal for them to accept cash, so I have always given a $20-$25 gift card somewhere. My mail carrier really appreciates it. She is very nice to us, always very pleasant and even gave my son a card for his birthday.
