during the holidays?
We usually give him $25, but I recently read that you arent supposed to give cash...

I have a friend that works for the postal service (not as a carrier) and he forwarded me this huge powerpoint file that was sent out usps wide letting employees know what they can accept at the holidays and what they can't. They can actually get fired for accepting cash gifts. However, you can give gift cards for places like Starbucks for under $20.
My friend sent me this after I mentioned the self addressed (not stamped!) envelope left in my mailbox by our mail carrier.

Nothing, my mail carrier is an idiot. And until I can get the correct mail, I wont give him anything. I have lived here 3 yrs and he still puts ?????? on my maiden name mail.

He's really great.
Now, if they don't leave an envelope, how the heck do they get it?
It's funny because my friend does fill in for him one day a week. I'd love to leave her something, but, our main carrier really should be the one to get the gift.

that would be the $64,000 question. I have told him, he also does it to my DH business mail. I taped all the names on the mailbox(on the inside) so there would be no issues. He ripped it out and still ????? on the mail.

My guy is so nice, I will be giving him $25 cash, I will put it in a card in an envelope and wait for him to come to give me my mail one day next week and I will just hand it to him. I dont even know his name but he is so nice.
