oh i'm crying now -so sorry for your loss. I remember when we put our family dog down- it was so sad. and than a few weeks later we got a card from the vet saying sorry for your loss- we all started hysterical drying again.

Thank you ladies - I'm turning into a psychopath - I keep thinking I see him out of the corner of my eye - we are going away next week, so DH put his backpack down near the steps where Storm used to sleep - so I keep thinking its him...

I'm sorry for your loss... you did the right thing.
I worked at a vet's office last summer, and I cried every time they put an animal down. Vet techs' eyes welled up frequently, too.
Something I can never get used to...
