Anyone having trouble with their homeowner's insurance?
We got a letter in the mail a few days ago from our homeowners insurance company stating that as of December 1st, they would be dropping us because of our close proximity to the water (we are 3 miles from the water) and the heightened threat of hurricanes this season.
We contacted our car insurance company to see if we could get homeowners thru them, but they stated that they are not taking on any new customers right now for the same reason!
Is anyone else having this problem?
So, in the meantime, I need to find a new homeowners insurance company who has decent rates (we pay approx $600 a year now). Can anyone recommend their insurance? Thanks!

I live no where near the water and State Farm pulled that bit on me
Liberty Mutal took us with no problem with great rate. Car Insurance is with Geico. Geico homeowners was the highest quote even after a discount for having both, auto and home

Try State Farm and if they don't work, call around to get quotes. I know AllState doesn't cover anymore.

It was Liberty Mutual that did it to us!
Do you have your car ins. with them too? I'm wondering if its also because we dont have our car insurance with them!

Yeah, so in addition to our close proximity to the water, this must have been the "straw that broke the camels back" Oh well.
