what kind of driveway do you have??

concrete,blacktop???
we dont have a driveway and we are getting estimates .....what is the best type to get and not super expensive??

We got pavers. We were going to do blacktop but were told that it was almost just as expensive as pavers so we went with the pavers.
Concrete isnt cheap either.

The benefits of pavers are they can be changed if you get stains, plus they can shift. We decided against blacktop b/c it gets very hot plus if you want to put chairs on it in the summer, they can sink in.

bricks...We had blacktop when we moved in & we didn't like the look. The bricks are so nice & give a nice curb appeal. Here is a picture from when it was first done

Our driveway is block paved, its a concrete version of belgian bricks and I think its beautiful. Here is a picture.

we have a black top driveway with belgiun blocks on the border. It needs to be redone & we want to add another section of driveway for DH's work truck & put pavers at the bottom as an apron.

Currently have a 150' blacktop driveway.

We're currently remodeling, so we're replacing the blacktop with a belgian block apron & border and gravel.

The gravel is temporary until we complete our additions (garage & 2nd story).

ETA: I believe we were quoted 13K for Blacktop with Belgian Block apron & border

Begium blocks trimming blacktop that we just got done. It came out really pretty and was $3000. Let me know if you need the name of a great company.

I have pavers on the side and apron, the rest is black top. We just had it done and the guys did an amazing job on the pavers, they should be coming this week to fill in the black top. If you would like his number let me know.

Mine is concrete (6" deep - about twice the depth of the usual - prior owner did the work) lined with belgium block. I was told the concrete will last forever being that deep (and cost a lot to remove). I want to line it with pavers and install a paver apron - DH wants all pavers. We havent' gotten any prices yet.

We have pavers and love them.

my IL's have concrete and although it doesn't look bad at all it's nice they hate it because it cracks.

Blacktop. I'm not a fan of it because it is super slippery in the winter with the snow and ice because it is on an incline as well.

We just had ours done last year...

It was originally concrete, but it was all cracked

So we had it ripped up and put blacktop with belgium blocks in...

blacktop but it needs re-doing. I would love to do pavers but I have a 150' driveway that is an easement. there are two other homes along the driveway. We are considering pavers once the condo sells for the stoops and patio.

I am glad to see this thread because we need to re-do our driveway and we would like to widen it. Any ideas of the price difference between pavers and blacktop? We have blacktop now but it needs some work. Thanks
