Re: Is anyone not charting?
If you have a 28 day cycle, you would count 14 days (AF is day 1) forward on the calendar to estimate ovulation. If you estimate ovulation to be around the 20th of July for example, you should start BDing 4 days before ovulation (on July 16th). And BD every day for an entire week.

Re: Is anyone not charting?
I don't chart either. I use the CBEFM and I am so glad that I do. I O'd on day 11 this month when I usually O on days 14 or 17.

"most" people ovulate on Day 14 of their cycle (is true for me). Both my SIL (have had 2 pregnancies) said they bd'ed for 11 days...So we are starting 2 days before O & then continuing on til day 20 (stopping a couple days short)
OK let's see if I understand. For an example: my last period was June 6 (first day of period).
So I have to count 14 days backwards from that date, right? Which would have been May 23.
So then I would have started BDing a few days before, like May 20 and continue to day 20, which would be June 3.
Sorry I just saw this. If your last AF was 6/6, you would cound 14 days forward (not backwards) & that would be 6/20. That would be the day you "should" ovulate. So I would have been BD'ng from 6/18-7/1....
Does that make sense???
A couple of things... Normal luteal phases (the time between O and your next AF) are between 12 and 16 days. If you're not charting or using OPKs to narrow down the O date, you should be operating under the assumption that you are O'ing anywhere from CD12 to CD 16 with your 28 day cycles. That means you should be BD'ing between CD 10 and CD17/18 (CD 1 is the first day of AF).
This advice has you BD'ing very late. And BD'ing all the way to the 1st, just a few days before the next AF is due, won't do anything for you. Once you O, the egg lives for a maximum of 12-24 hours - BD'ing a week later won't help.

Re: Is anyone not charting?
No. TTC is stressful enough. Having to sit and chart would make it even more stressful. My dr told me to just have sex every other day.

Re: Is anyone not charting?
We're going to official start TTC next month and we're just going to wait and see what happens.
If after a couple of months nothing happens, then maybe I'll try and figure out this charting thing.

It does thanks so much. I think I finally got it . Thank you for being patient with all my questions.
If you ovulate 6/21 it does not make sense to BD after 6/21 (unless it is just for fun). You should BD more before ovulation.
