Donna and Marcie- Thanks for posting on this thread and ALWAYS grounding me! You two, plus Felecia are part of the reason I am still alive. You are the three that told me to go to the hospital. I thought I was being foolish but after months of listening to me talk of all the symptoms you helped me be strong enough to make it.
I don't know if I posted this, ever, but I was told that had I gone into labor naturally and had to push hard, that the tumor that was around my carotid artery might have punctured it and killed me in labor.
You three saved my life.
I am just so glad that I could be there for you.

Im not presumptuous enough to think any of our advice will help you and I think its hard to offer advice without thinking...." will she think we are patronizing her?"....... how could any of us understand etc....But the advice is from the heart and I hope some of it helps you

Deb, I wasn't really on the boards when your original post appeared (I think I was just beginning to lurk at that point), but as I just sat and read that with tears welling up in my eyes, I looked to the left and a HUGE smile overcame my face. Look at that funny face your little mini muffin is making. Sooooo CUTE!!!
He is and will always be the reason you wake up every morning and smile....no matter how crappy the hand you're dealt. I agree with the OP who sugeested counseling to help you through the emotional end of this journey and am here if you ever need to vent.
Like the other fab ladies, I too look forward to next year's post of "can you believe how far I've come in 2 years"!!!!!

No advice Deb, but all I can say is - when you heard that news 1 yr ago, where did you see yourself in a year? Did you see yourself still strong, healthy, fighting, with your gorgeous child in your life?

well teh 22nd was when I went to the ER...of course it was after midnight when the official diagnosis came in and then more tests to confirm, then rushed right over to my OB so this is going to spill into the 23rd all day.
I medicated the crap outta me today soooo that really helped.

In addition to getting to meet Captain Charisma himself, you have a lot that you didn't have last year as others said. You have an amazing, beautiful little boy, you have a HUGE support network that you probably didn't realize you had before, and you have given all of us the gift of inspiration and hope.
I know it may sound trite and may sound like we're saying "look on the bright side" of hearing the worst news of your life, but you've made it this far by clinging to that glimmer of hope and filling your life with love and courage.
I don't know how to get through these days. I don't know how you do it, of if I could. But I imagine it's just one day at a time, Keeping that hope in your heart and surrounding yourself with the love of friends and family.
You rock, Deb! We all love you. I can just picture you rockin' out along with thet Silent Bob avatar you had back in the day.

I still remember reading your post last year where you were complaining of pain and dizziness and I thought to myself... "she needs to go to a dr - that doesn't sound good"... where usually I am like  to the women complaining about the minor discomforts of pregnancy (we don't have too many women like that on here though) and the neurotics that always freak and think the worst if they feel the slightest thing during pregnancy...with your post I just got a totally different feeling.
I never expected the news you got though and I can only imagine what a blow it was. And looking back now I think...wow...look at the year this woman has had... how scary, inspiring, sad, painful, trying, and amazing it must have been.... and HERE you are. One year later. I don't know what else to say really. It's just...wow.
