the hotel provides it?

Just curious. We traveled recently with my sister and her new hubby, and when we were talking about all the things we needed to pack and she said her hubby brings his own toilet paper.

ETA: I do bring my own shampoo and conditioner and soap (I find the hotel ones too perfumy)

I will bring my Hair dryer since most times the hotel ones are too weak for my thick hair and my own shampoo/conditioner/soap. I also bring liquid hand soap I hate washing my hands with bar soap lol. Thats about it.

Re: When traveling do you bring things even though

LOL. No, I don't bring toilet paper LMAO
Chat Icon That's a new one!

However I do bring my own shampoo and conditioner as I have specific needs and I have no idea if what they provide will work for my hair.

I use the hotel hair dryer, even though it's never great, because I just rough blow dry it (never do a full blow out or straighten it) and I can't bear to drag my own. I have enough stuff to bring.

DH likes body wash and they rarely provide that - only bar soap- so he brings a small body wash and a small poof sponge

DD needs hypoallergenic/fragrance free soap since anything else irritates her female parts- Chat Icon- so I bring a small bar of that for her

I always bring my own hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner - none of those things that are provided by the hotel ever work for me (especially the hair dryer - I need a much more powerful one).

I also bring my own soap - I can't use anything with fragrance on my skin for more than a couple of days without it causing a reaction.

DH brings his own pillow - he is beyond picky about his pillow Chat Icon

No. I try to bring the bare minimum. Most of the time, I have travel size shampoo, etc in my travel bag so I do have my own stuff but I don't intentionally say I'm not using the stuff the hotel provides. I would NEVER bring my own linens, TP, etc. Way too much work.

I bring my own dryer, soap, shampoo/conditioner. With my hair those little bottles would be gone after 1 day. I never heard of anyone bringing their own toilet paper.

I bring my own toiletries.
I don't know how hotel stuff works on my sensitive skin and hair.

I know of someone who brings her own sheets and towels. One suitcase just for this !
Insane.

Lmao!! This reminds me of someone I know who brings an extra bag to take everything she can-including toilet paper- from hotel rooms. I don't get it

I bring shampoo, conditioner & face wash. I use the hotel hair dryer, although it's annoying when they're weak. If they have nice toiletries then I'll take them home, good to have on hand if I run out of shampoo & forgot to buy!

Re: When traveling do you bring things even though

Lol - full disclosure, we have brought our own tp because DH has major stomach issues and can literally go through 3-4 rolls/day, and that's the Scott 10000 sheets/roll. The thick hotel stuff, well, you get the idea.

We've also hidden rolls of hotel tp in our suitcases every time we go back to the room so housekeeping will keep replenishing w/o us having to constantly call down and then subsequently tip whomever brings it up.

I request extra shampoo and conditioner upon check in. I take as much as I can home
With me. I've stayed in hotels where each mini bottle costs $5-8 in the store! Ain't no shame in my game!!!

Re: When traveling do you bring things even though

I take my own toiletries.

I also always pack a box of tissues. I do a lot of nearby travel and Europe has two different kinds of tissues. The crappy kind (cosmetic) are always in the hotels and I like the softer kind for my nose.

I also pack my own washcloth. Some places supply them, and some do not.

DH also brings his own pillow. I have a 3 week trip coming up and I'm debating bringing mine, too, lol.

I've never heard of bringing own tp, but we do bring our own toiletries. Blow dryer I don't bring bc I don't have thick hair and the reg crappy hotels ones usually do the job. The less stuff I have to bring the better!

I used to bring shampoo and conditioner, but don't bother anymore. I still bring soap and a hair dryer and tissues (sometimes don't use ours, but I bring them in case I want them).

I always bring all my own toiletries and hair dryer. If we're traveling by car, then I'll bring my pillow too. I never take anything from the hotel, unless it's a shower cap.

Trip length determines what we bring. I don't wash my hair everyday (gasp!) so if its just 2-3 days away I'll make sure I wash my hair right before we go so there is no need for it.
DH isn't picky about hair stuff so he will just use what is at the hotel. I hate bar soap but I'll deal with it.

Sometimes we will stop at a drug store or supermarket when we land to get sunscreen/toiletries/water/etc. I prefer that instead of having to carry it the whole way. Then we just throw it away at the hotel before we leave.

We never check a bag, so we stick to all of the size rules and just buy at the destination for stuff that we couldn't bring on (spray sunscreen for example.)

I always bring body wash because I hate showering with bar soap. I usually also bring shampoo but I'll use the hotel ones as well. Lately we've been buying hand soap when we get there since we really don't like using bar soap and it's just easier with the kids.

Same. And it's actually not good to wash your hair every day....it's actually terrible for it.... so no gasp here! LOL

My girlfriend once told her hair stylist that she washes her hair every day and the stylist gasped at THAT! Chat Icon

We usually bring all of our own stuff...............even bars of soap!! I like having my own body wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc. I usually will bring my own hairdryer too just because the ones in hotels tend to be so cheap and weak. I don't bring TP, Chat Icon Chat Icon , but I do pack all of the toiletries we use daily.
