got sad news, neighbor who was just diagnosed lung CA has died
older man, in great shape, went to the gym, caregiver for his wife. Just diagnosed with lung and esophageal cancer about 1-2 months ago was given a poor prognosis and he just died 2 days ago. he was our neighbor and a nice man. Wife is very ill herself and will probably go into a nursing home. I don't know if he was a former smoker, but we never saw him smoke.
It just cuts me to the bone how someone can be "ok" then not. it really hits you.
trying not to let life stress me out. not when you can be gone so soon.

This was my grandpa. He was playing 18 holes of golf right up until they discovered his mass. He was given a formal diagnosis 4 weeks later and died exactly one week later. It was awful. Shocking. He was so full of life. I'm sorry about your neighbor. Cancer sucks.

My FIL was the same diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and only lasted 4 months. He only went to the dr cause he was having hip pain. The pain was from the cancer that spread.

So sad. A woman at work, 51 years old died of lung cancer 4 months after she was diagnosed. It was already stage 4 by the time she was diagnosed. But she was a smoker.

My neighbor, 72 just passed away from Lung Cancer. He hadn't smoked since the 1950's... a very private battle for 2 years

i found out a girl from my college died of brain cancer yesterday. 36 years old, had her whole life in front of her. 
i'm sorry.

This makes me want to cry. My parents just told me Friday that my dad was diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer. They gave already removed the lower third of one side of his lungs. I'm hoping and praying that they got it all. He still needs to follow up with an oncologist to see if he needs radiation or chemo. Cancer is so scary.

I know what this feels! It's very scary especially when it's a parent! Sending many prayers to ur dad and hoping for a speedy recovery

So sorry to hear about so much illness. It is so scary, and why I am really intense about avoiding second hand smoke.
If you can smell it, it is harming you. Inside--outside--in designated areas. I stay away as best as I can and get really angry inside when people smoke on me on the street.

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer back in October 2014. She only survived 6 months - and she was such a fighter. She believed until the end she was going to beat it. The last few days when is when I saw defeat in her eyes.
She and my father quit smoking 13 years before her diagnosis. I think it added years to her life.
I miss her like crazy.
