Going rate for wedding gift
I know it's based on what you can afford, but in general for a Friday evening wedding of a friend (she is my DH's childhood neighbor and an acquaintance of mine) what would you give for the two of us? She attended our wedding 3 years ago and gave a nice gift for just herself at that time ($150).

This is kind of what we were leaning towards. It's between $250 and $300. I will be 8 months pregnant so every penny counts, but I'm thinking $300 is probably more standard

$300 is my standard and definitely what I would give if she gave $150 for just herself.

for coworkers, somewhat close friends, etc we give anywhere from 200-250... for closer friends and family we do 300-350.
However, I kept note of the gifts we received on our wedding day from everyone, and I tend to just match what everyone gave us. A majority of the gifts we received from friends were in the 250 range

I wouldnt give any less than $250 -- we tend to do $300 more -- but we just went to a wedding recently (my sister in laws sister in law ) and we gave $250

I would do $300. We only do more for family/ close friends. But again it's what you can afford! I got married 2 years ago and gifts ranged from $50pp to $500pp it's totally what you can give! And trust me any money after paying for a wedding is appreciated!!!

I would give $300. The majority of people at our wedding gave $200 per couple, close family gave more.
