Spinoff of Holiday Bonus
Do you use your holiday bonus to buy gifts and such for Christmas or any other holiday you celebrate?

I have always used my holiday bonus for Christmas gifts and whatever else needed for the holiday.

I get a bonus at the end of March so no I don't use it to buy holiday gifts.

We use DH bonus for big house projects and things we need like furniture, appliances, etc. We've also used it to pay off debt. We have other savings for holiday shopping.

Mine bought us a new living room set. I'll be using the rest on me for a nice haircut and my highlights DHs we will use for a new fence and pay off my car :)

No, our shopping is done by the time we get our bonuses. They go to our vacation for the year.

We use our bonus for savings, house projects and money for holidays. We get our bonus in September though.

At my old job I got a full week's pay before taxes. I relied heavily on that for Christmas gifts. When I switched to this job, I got $50 the first year... before taxes (It used to be based solely on how long you were with the company). I cried. I had no idea what I would do for Christmas. I made it work, but it was tough. Now they've switched our bonuses completely so it's partially merit based and given in the spring along with evaluations. I guess the short answer is no, I don't use it for Christmas shopping.

Ours doesn't go to anything in particular. It goes into the bank and we just look at it as extra money...so sometimes it gets thrown into the credit card to pay it off, some gets used for house projects, some gets used for Christmas gifts I'm sure. And some is just saved.

I get mine in March and will use it to pay off our Disney vacation the rest will be used to pay off some of our CCs.

Yes. Approximately 50% is used for holiday shopping or reimbursed to savings, and the rest goes to savings.

I don't get a bonus, but we use DH's bonus for savings and investing. DH gets a nice stock option, so we buy the maximum he is allowed and split the rest (if there is a rest) between savings / charities and towards a trip somewhere.
His bonus is dependent on how well the company does. It can be anywhere from 0-2 months salary. This year it was really good, so we have extra.

DH gets bonuses quarterly, not necessarily for holiday. when his company cut back on that and gave a small xmas bonus, it came after xmas. So we couldnt even use it towards holiday stuff anyway.
we usually put it towards a vacation or something fun.
