Holiday Bonus for Nanny
For those who have nannies, how much extra do you give her at the holidays? Our nanny has been with us 4 months and we love her. I just read an article on Care.com that said to give an extra 1-2 weeks pay, but I just don't think we can financially swing that...and that seems like a lot to me.

I'm going to give ours 1 week's of pay bonus.
I think that's pretty standard.

Standard is 1 weeks pay. However, when we had our first Christmas with our nanny she had only been with us 3 weeks. I bought her leather gloves (on sale  ) and a bottle of wine I found from a vineyard with our daughter's name.
Since then, we give her about one weeks pay...which is more than I even spend on DH at Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

True: it'll be the most I spend on anyone for Xmas (probably more than all gifts combined).

Thanks all!
So 1 week seems standard. But I think I'd give that to her after she's been with us for a year. I mean, I don't get my full bonus at work until I've been here a year!  Plus, we just gave her our surround sound system for free! It just had too many wires that DS wanted to play with.

I would just prorate it - I would give her 1/3 of a week's salary.
I am planning on giving my nanny 1 week as well, and it is killing me - it is SO much money!
