How much do you spend on your own kids for the holidays? I really don't want to go overboard. We don't anticipate too many gifts other than from us though.

Quite a bit, but we don't have family that buys for them, other than a couple of things. I tend not to buy a bunch of stuff throughout the year though.

Too much, and I only have one. I'm going to have to slow it down this year because my whole house looks like Toys R Us.

I am not going to go crazy this year. We have too many toys as it is and FIL goes CRAZY during the holidays (just by seeing what he got him last year) so I know he will get a ton of toys from him.

We try to stay below $300.
DS gets toys through out the year, so we don't go crazy for Christmas. This year he really isn't into anything in particular, so I am going to spend less.
Plus, I hate when toys are spilling over, so the less stuff the better. When there is too much for them to play with, they tend to play with nothing for more than a week because there is just too much.

I really don't want to add it up and put a number on it because I know it's way too much. My parents go over board too. I have to start going through their old toys that I can donate so we can make way for the new.
I know soon they will be too big to believe in Santa so I do get them what they want. These years are flying by and I like to spoil them for christmas.

A lot. 
I don't really set a budget for my kids, I do for my other Xmas shopping, but not for them. I love playing Santa, it's the one time of year where I can really spoil them......... So I do!!

she was only 10m last year so we didnt get her too much.. We havent talked about it this year. She has a ton of toys she doesnt play with so im probably not going that route... i honestly dont know what to get her

Same. And I refuse to buy her a gift that will take up a ton of space. I usually like to get her one big gift (usually for outside) and a bunch of smaller ones

Way too much! This year I can say we are spending about $400 total between the 3 of them. But They are getting a lot of stuff as everything i have gotten so far has been on sale for a ridiculously good price. I don't even want to add up what i spent on each the last couple of years. I don't like putting a budget on them because it's christmas and I like to spoil them, but with 3 of them so young it can get way out of control fast. I will be going through old toys and donating them in the next week or 2 though.

This is not meant in a nasty way AT ALL........I'm just curious.
What do open on Xmas morning then? I have a huge family too and my kids get a lot from them but I still buy a lot for Xmas morning from Santa. I love the Xmas morning present opening!!
Do you save some of the family gifts to open for Xmas morning? Just wondering.

I would typically spend around $100 on DD but DH bought her a ukulele so I think we're around $150 this year. I make sure I get good deals on what I buy and she doesn't care how many gifts she gets so it's only a few plus stocking stuffers. She gets spoiled by grandparents and other relatives so I really try to limit what we give her since we have no space and she tends to have the most fun with a wrapping paper roll, a stick, or a few pieces of tape.

I set a budget of a lot for Christmas for my own kids .........
DH ususally ends up going over it. They only get 'big' ticket things for Christmas, or their birthdays.
I get little things here and there throughout the year, but I'm talking, like matchbox car $1.49 little

I finally did this, this year. Ive been xmas shopping since the summer lol. Im done, so im not hit with one big bill from xmas gifts. Best thing ive ever done

My dd is just 2 and she likes to open one present and play with that. She's gets so much from family and so it overwhelming. I still have a few birthday gifts hidden away bc I have to her to play one at a time. So for Christmas I am getting her one big item and a few smaller ones. Probably not more than $200.

DS is only one so he doesn't get Christmas and my parents and in-laws are out of control with what they are buying him already - we might just take some money and stash it in his account this year.
I can't wait until he is older though and gets what is going on - I am sure I will be in the overspending group!
