Kids w/ bdays around the holidays

What do you end up doing usually for a bday party?

I had DS who will be 2 on 12/30 at My Gym today and I inquired about their bday package for a party on 1/2 which is a Sunday. The owner told me he would do it, but to think really hard about it because it's a large chunk of $$$ to pay when most people end up being away.


The price will cover up to 20/25 kids, but in reality, we know about 10-12 kids who would actually come on a "normal" weekend.

Our house is teeny-tiny so I really don't want to do anything here. I am thinking of just having an informal GTG at the local McDonald's and then just letting the kids all play in the playplace.

What would you do? (Or what have you done if this is your situation?). TIA!!

my bday was 12/26 so I never had birthday parties but , maybe if you push it back a week? I think that would be better and it would give kiddies something to look forward too since holidays are over

My friend's daughter's birthday is on Dec 24. She is having her party at a Little Gym on Dec 11.

my friends DD birthday is Dec 27 and she usually does her birthday on January 2, 3, pretty much the beginning of January and everyone that she invites goes. i think she usually sends the invite out the beginning of Dec that way everyone knows when it is going to be.

I would either have her party two weeks before or two weeks after her actual birthday. I think I would do two weeks before as by mid January it is really cold and usually snowy.

I would do it. Most people I know are around for the holidays.

DD's is the day after Thanksgiving. Even though I know it is a big travel holiday, I took my chances. I am PG, only getting bigger and have my own holiday stuff to do too. So I planned her parties (kiddy and family) for the weekend right after (the big ole shopping weekend). If people come great, if not, oh well. I know our closest friends and family will be there. The only ones I probably won't hear from are the five or six I invited from her school.

My DS bday is a couple days before Christmas, we are doing his party 2 weeks before--if you are concerned people can't come I would try to do it before or after the holidays. Most people I know don't travel the whole holiday season though, so you might be okay.

DS birthday is 12/23 we are having his party on 12/18.

I am really going to try and make it happen this year.

His bday and party are on 12/18.
I am having it at his art school...min 10 kids.
As long as they are 3, they can be dropped off from 10:30-12

it is in a fabulous shopping center, so i am hoping people use it as a babysitter and come.

we will see.

DS's bday is 12/29 and we are doing his 1st bday 1/8.

DD's bday is 12/19 and I'm having her 1st bday on 12/26. I would have done it on her bday but our out of state family will be here and that date works. I'm only having family
