oh I have one of those. A good friend at work always steps out to call my cell when that happens so I tell that person...oh I really need to take this call..sorry and I walk away. My friend knows to call when this particular person just won't stop talking!!!!!

Co-workers who DO NOT SHUT UP
if the person is talking to you, just start working/typing (you can still pay attention to them as they do this) ... usually they'll get the hint.
if they're talking to others, invest in a good pair of noise cancelling headphones

You'd THINK she'd get the hint when I don't even turn around to face her, but, nope... she does not. Wish I could wear headphones, but we have to answer phones :/

Can you just nicely say, "I'm sorry (Insert annoying persons name), but i'm really overwhelmed with work right now, can we talk later?" Just shut it down, if you can? I have a few of these at my office and they are constantly coming to my desk to vent, chat, show me something, gossip, and I make it a point to be EXTREMELY BUSY.

Yes!! But the girl behind me talks to herself all.day.lomg. Alllll damn day. She answers her texts out loud. It's seriously the most annoying thing ever.
