Going rate for a 16yo sitter/mother's helper?
I'm looking for an extra hand for afternoons. My boys are 3yo and 5yo. I would be home most of the time. My coworker's daughter is a responsible honor student.
Is $10 reasonable or too low?
We pay $15-20 for our adult babysitters.

I think its reasonable. I would give her a little more if you go out.

Minimum wage is $8 per hour. Your coworker's daughter won't be getting taxed (as she would if she were working in a store). $10 per hour is more than reasonable.

at age 16 $10 is plenty, even $8 would be fine. You cant pay a teen close to what you would for an adult. IMO

We have a 15 yr old up the road. She charges 8 but we pay her $10
