DD crying and biting on everything

DD is 4 mo and for the past couple of days has been really sticking her hands in mouth. for the last 3 nights she has been up at night crying for something upset. I tried feeding, burping, changing and rocking with the binky. Nothing consoled her and after a while she was exhausted and fell asleep. The next night it was the same thing and then she was ok until tonight. She was doing the biting on everything with no relief. We felt so bad that we got orajel and though she seemed to hate it at first I think she was relieved after.

Do you think it could be teething?
Is she too young for that?

DD got her two bottom teeth a little before 5 months. She had a tough time for maybe 3 days and once they broke through she was fine. I gave her frozen teethers and tylenol which both helped. Can you feel any teeth?

DS got his first tooth at 3 months. By 4 months he had two already.

Try frozen rug/blanket, teething toys. You might always give her some Tylenol. I am not a fan of Orajel, it may cause chocking. I know a child who ended up in hospital after as a baby swallowed a little bit of Orajel and chocked.

OMG this is exactly why I didnt want DH to give it to her. I was thinking what if she was to have a reaction. I just checked her and shes sleeping well so Im thinking you would probably see that reaction right away.

I dont feel any teeth yet but shes biting down something fierce if you put your knuckle in her mouth and shes moving it side to side.

DS began teething around 3 months. He mouthed everything. At around 5.5 months, he began biting downon objects and my fingers really hard. But his teeth didnt pop out until he turned 8 months.

Sounds like your dd is teething. My cousin cut two teeth at 4 months.

If she is teething, give her some Tylenol at bed time. When they lay down, the blood pools in their gums. I can only imagine how much that hurts! A little Tylenol will cut the pain for her and allow her to fall asleep.

Thanks this is exactly when she starts to fuss the most. I will try this.
