SAHM---everyday outfits

What are your go to outfits? Ive been wearing a sweatshirt and jeans, and need to start caring a lil more. Chat Icon I still have 10 lbs to lose from my baby, so I like to cover up, but need something more put together than a sweatshirt!

Thanks

Re: SAHM---everyday outfits

When I first became a SAHM, I was sweatpants/yoga pants and sweatshirts... all the time. I started to feel really down about myself, now I always wear nice jeans or leggings, with a cute pair of flats or boots (now that the weather is cooler) with a nice top/sweater. I need to feel put together.

The only time I don't "dress" in the morning is if I'm going to work out after I take the kids to pre-school, or if I am planning to work out earlier in the day.

SAHM---everyday outfits

I wear lots of cardigans and jeans or leggings. easy and comfortable. If I'm not going to a class with DS and just running errands I'll wear yoga pants or something more comfortable

It depends on the day, if we are going out for most of the day I usually wear leggings/jeans with high boots or flats and a top. If we are just running to the supermarket, or a quick errand and spending most of the day at home. I wear my workout clothes, usually a pair of yoga pants or leggings and a top. If we are out I usually change as soon as we get home to something comfortable/doesn't need to be dry cleaned etc.

Re: SAHM---everyday outfits

As pp posters said... Mostly yoga pants or skinny jeans with boots. I have a 1 and 3 yr old so playing a lot on the floor. Yoga pants with a cute tank and zip up sweatshirt if it's cold.
If we're not going out in public to do errands, shop or a playdate then yoga pants.
M 3 yr old goes to preschool so I take the baby and we go for walks just about everyday if it's nice fter he gets picked up. When the baby naps I'm usually doing a big clean up or go on the treadmill. Thank goodness they go to bed early. This gives me a chance to take a loooong shower then DH and I do dinner and chill.

I felt the same way. I started to feel like everything I wore just screamed "I became a mom and I have zero style now". I'm still losing weight but have lost 40+ lbs since giving birth to my dd 4 months ago. But now I wear cute leggings, nicer jeans, sweater in the fall, cardigans with tanks, some jewelry or scarves to accessorize. Some days I'll wear yoga pants and a zip up or a fitted tee but I don't do it as often as I use to. I wear a lot of ballat flats, or small wedge heels, and dressier flip flops on otter days.

Not a SAHM but I am off on Fridays.

I have been into wearing open cardigans with a tank shirt underneath and yoga pants if I am staying home. If I decide to run out I just quickly throw jeans on and flats/uggs etc.

If I know I am going out for the day I dress as I normally do.

oh but I am also pregnant so that limits me a bit :)

Jeans everyday. Usually a tank and a cardigan. Ballet flats or Toms on my feet. SO simple.

Also, I put on at least some makeup everyday-- mineral foundation, blush, mascara and also lip liner/gloss depending on my mood...

Thanks ladies. Where do u shop? Especially for nice leggings? Do you wear long sweaters with the leggings. I feel like I have been pregnant forever [i have 4 boys 5 and younger!) and just have no sense of style anymore...I need a wardrobe overhaul!

Love all the suggestions...any pics would be great as well! I wish I could just hire a stylist"( and a maid, a chef and a chauffeur!)

This! I'm also happy I fit into my juicy outfits again so occasionally I throw one of those on. I also make sure I shower & dry my hair/do my makeup every morning.

SAHM---everyday outfits

I'm just happy that I've finally started wearing things other than nursing tanks every day. Lol. I usually wear jeans and a top. If it's cool I'll wear a cardigan or button down over it. I finally got a few pairs of jeans that fit which makes me feel better and I've been doing a little more makeup lately but I need to work on drying my hair. Throwing it in a bun got old about 3 months ago!

My favorite leggings are hue, lu lu lemon under wonders, and zella leggings. The last two look a little sporty if you don't wear long tops (the band is sporty) and are expensive, but they last and suck you in!

I wear sweatpants and a tshirt EVERY DAY! I havent had time to switch out my summer clothes for fall clothes - i cant believe so many get dressed! I do feel down sometimes bc of wearing the same clothes, never doing my hair, etc. Where does everyone buy tunics to wear w leggings??

Re: SAHM---everyday outfits

When I was a SAHM, I was a hot mess. I wore sweatpants almost everyday and when it was hot, I wore short versions of sweatpants. lol

Only after going back to work part time did I start dressing better. Now I attend playdates in decent clothing. I bought a lot of nice leggings, jeans, shirts and sweaters.

When I was a SAHM, I would often forget if I even brushed my teeth before I went out. I was really an unhappy mess.

Re: SAHM---everyday outfits

I basically SAM, I work very PT. When we're in the house I wear yoga pants, tank tops and sweat shirts. I really don't go out like this though, I normally put on jeans and a nicer long sleeve shirt (now that it's cooler out), sweater or layer a cardigan type shirt without buttons (I don't know what they're called) over a tank. Occasionally I'll wear a nicer pair of yoga pants out if we're going somewhere casual or if I know I'll be sitting on the ground.

I can't wear jeans around the house, I find them so uncomfortable. I also don't like to wear my "street clothes" in the house but I know that's weird lol. I wish I could say I fixed my hair everyday but I only do if there's a reason. I shower at night and let my hair air-dry (I just can't justify the time to blow it out normally these days) then put it in a ponytail the next day. I always put on make-up though if I'm going out and sometimes even when I'm just staying home.

I would like to get up and fix my hair, do my make-up as soon as I get up but I get up with DD and it's just not possible. I guess I could wake up earlier than her but especially since being pregnant my sleep is too valuable for that!

eta- I too would like to know where people find cute tunics to wear with leggins! I've looked for them and never see them anywhere. I don't know what I'm missing . . .

I got cute leggings at Zara and a few tunics at JCrew last season.

Re: SAHM---everyday outfits

I'm in yoga pants & fitted tee in the cooler months or velour suits with a tank in the dead winter. The only day I throw on jeans or nice leggings is Tuesday whn I take DS o school. I have two active 3,2 year olds were I'm constantly on the floor or cleaning my house. There is no way I'm gonna dress nicer one those days. On the weekends, even if running errands, I'll throw on jeans bc 95% of the time DH is ith me. I am ok with not getting dressed, keeps down on the cost of clothes for me plus I know my day to o back to wok & get dressed is around the corner. Comfort is key for me.

I do put makeup on everyday but I wear minimal anyway & do my hair (flat iron) it the night prior. If I need, I can pull it back in a ponytail.

SAHM---everyday outfits

thisi s just me- but - when i was home with the twins, every single day i had to get dressed or i'd go insane....i personally would get depressed if i wore sweat pants and pajamas all day. i took a shower daily, did something with my hair whether it was air dried or in a bun. i also put on simple earrings and light makeup. i dont care if it takes 5 minutes and the kids are crying for those 5 minutes- i need to get dressed to feel like a human.

i wore jeggings maybe a soft t shirt and cardigain over it. or a button down oxford with jeggins.

in the house i am barefoot or with socks- but out side id wear riding boots or flats. sometimes boots with a little heel.
