If both came at each other then that would be good TV! But one decided not to play. Maybe that was his strategy all along. Who knows?
Hey you know I love you.
But do you really think Obama didn't speak b/c he decided "not to play" in the debate? So now running our country, being able to have a debate with another candidate is a game he decides he won't play? Highly doubt it was a strategy. That seems like a really far fetched concept IMO, to think his performance was based on strategy.

Honest question- I do not follow politics regularly, so I DO watch the debates to learn more about the candidates.
What is the point of the debates if you shouldn't use them to judge the candidates?
The debates are NOT for the "smart" people. They are not for the people who have educated themselves in politics, basic philosophy, and have a decent understanding of the issues.
Debates are ONLY to win over those who are uneducated about the issues and will listen, THINKING they are getting ACTUAL facts.
The debates are not factual. They are about one liners, bob and weave, and not answering questions. Its about one-upsmanship and getting the last word. Its about attacking anything and everything the other guy (or gal) says and saying WHATEVER ti takes to sway voters to you.
No where in a debate is there room for ACTUAL content that the American people are SO desperate for.
My question is - if Obama "won" the debate, would people be saying the same thing? It seems like the only defense that Obama fans have is this or that Romney was lying.
So glad you just said this Bc I was just going to comment the exact same thing!

Re: went to Romney rally today, got some decent pics.
I hate ignorant, assumptive commentary.
I don't judge people based on their skin color, or their hair color, or their shoe size .. or their political affiliation.
I hate that some people still do.
I LOVE that some people can judge the pics for the pics without bashing one candidate or the other jsut for the fun of it.

No, I definitely don't think that. I have no idea what crawled up his ass that day.
I can't speak for the POTUS but I do think the debates are crap in general. Same with the conventions.

I read a theory that mitt was practicing the debate strategy "spreading" in which he throws so many unfounded or unproven facts in an effort to get his opponent to waste all his time refuting those lies (or facts ). Barack didn't give in to this strategy instead choosing to focus on stating his vision. But he came out looking like a loser because he didn't attack Mott back. It would've been really easy to simply confront him on the 47% issue but I'm thinking Barack believes that it stands pretty clearly for itself and didn't see the need to bring it up.
I didn't watch the whole thing but my belief is those who are well read can make up their minds without watching all the posturing that goes on. I got nothing out of what I watched nor did I expect to. Why do you think everyone focuses on the fact checks afterwards?
To the op, great pics! Where was the rally?

went to Romney rally today, got some decent pics.
Wow what a thread this has turned into. Thanks to all who liked the pics, I wasn't looking to start a debate. I thought it was an amazing opportunity to see a likely future US President in such close proximity, I may never get the chance again. He was literally within walking distance from my house. I would have went if Obama held a rally too, despite my feelings for him and being a Republican.

WOW...I feel like I just played "One of these things is not like the other" looking at those pictures!
There is defintely a lack of diversity in the crowd Another reason why I'm happy to be a democrat!
I'm confused by this. I don't get why a lack of diversity in the crowd would make you proud to be a democrat? So because Obama attracts more "diversity" it automatically makes him the better choice to RUN our country? We all CHOOSE who we support. In fact, some people will vote for Obama simply b/c he is black, not because he is the right man for the job. Seems pretty PREJUDICE to me to choose TO vote for someone based on skin color (or their supporters' skin color) AS WELL AS to NOT vote for someone based on skin color (or their supporters' skin color).
With beliefs such as this, we will NEVER get the right man in office. That same belief is what got Obama into the office to begin with, NOT his credentials to RUN our country. Which clearly was illustrated in this past debate by far.
Funny, I didn't even NOTICE the skin color of ANYONE in the background. Didn't even cross my mind to look at that. Boy I am already scared for this upcoming election if this is the mentality of the majority of voters.

Although i am personally voting for Obama since I feel he is a much better choice over Romney, I agree with what you say. It's not color we are voting on. These are great pics and I am sure it was exciting to be there, as I would be excited to be at a rally for my personal choice!!!

NO! I'm proud to be a Democrat because it's the party for the PEOPLE ..all the people- not just the rich, white males! That's why! And my vote goes to President Barack Obama because he is the right man for our country- which is made up of many more skin colors than you see behind Romney in that picture. And frankly, you SHOULD notice the lack of diversity in those pictures because it isnt right to only have white people sitting behind you, cheering you on. That's why I'M scared for this election.
Since when is the Republican party only for rich, white males? That is silly. I know many Republicans, myself included, who are not rich, white males.
How is it "not right" that there are only white people sitting behind him? Think he forbade anyone else to sit behind him? I have seen many pictures of Obama with only black people around him. And i have no problem with it, because it has nothing to do with what type of leader he is/would be.

I live in Queens also, which I was told as a graduate student at St. Johns is the most diverse place in the world. (No idea to the validity of this statement but if not THE most diverse, certainly one of them )
