Re: Pillow/blanket question?
My both boys had pillows around 7 months bc of sickness & needed elevation. When he tried to take it out after they were better, they would not sleep. Both boys have.used a hand crochetted blanket since day 1 & heavier blankets around 8 months.

Pillow/blanket question?
DD still wears a sleep sack (18 months). Gave her a pillow last month and it was great for about a week and then she decided it was the best excuse to stay up and play so I took it out of her crib. I'll try again in another few months probably.

Re: Pillow/blanket question?
I gave my kids pillows at 12 months. What I did was I put the pillow underneath the fitted sheet so it raised up their heads but did not have any extra material floating around. I also started with a small travel pillow so that it would not hurt their neck.
As for a blanket I think my kids were about 18 months old when I gave them blankets. I used knitted ones that had large holes so I would not worry if they covered their face. Before then I used the sleep sack.

Blanket probably around 16 months, although she has had one at daycare for naps since 6 months. Pillow closer to 2.

Re: Pillow/blanket question?
Around age 1 my DD started using a blanket and having things like stuffed animals in her bed. She started with a pillow soon after.

Re: Pillow/blanket question?
a blanket and a little "toddler" pillow probably when DS was around 2 1/2?
I thought he was ready earlier...but one morning when DS was about 18 months, he was using a small receiving blanket and luckily DH just happened to check on him early one morning - and the blanket was wrapped around his head! So we waited to use a blanket again until he was much older.

Re: Pillow/blanket question?
My ds is 14 months and has been using a blanket since he was 8-9 months. It is a homemade blanket with many large holes in the stitching.

Re: Pillow/blanket question?
just gave more dd#2 her first pillow pet at age 2 and did the same (same age) for dd#1....both my girls wore sleepsacks for a long time, almost 3 lol both loved those things! sooooo i introduced a blanket at 2 1/2 for dd#1 around potty training time and will do the for dd#2, when she is getting potty trained its time to get rid of the sleep sack and introduce the blanket

Re: Pillow/blanket question?
blanket - around 1, we used sleep sacks til then.... at daycare they required one right away at 8 weeks so we got the breathable mesh kinda material.....
pillow, after 1 we tried it, he'd always roll away from it - it was a foam one, special for baby at babiesrus.. started liking it more after 2.
