Anyone given DC the Hep A shot?
DS' pediatrician recommended it today at his 3 year well visit. I was just wondering if anyone had done it and if there were any side effects. Thanks!

Anyone given DC the Hep A shot?
DS got it as his 21 month appt and had NO reaction to it what so ever. dd had it when she was 12 years old and had no reaction too.

It is a state mandated, required vaccination. So yes, she has taken it. I just pulled up her shot record that I keep. She got it at 1yr and 2yr

My twins just got it at 21 months. Neither had a reaction.

DD gets all her vaccines.
She must have had this one- I don't recall the specific age though.
She has never had a reaction to any shot.
If they are bringing this up at 3, I am thinking it's a booster. Because I think they give the first Hep A somewhere in one of the visits between 1 and 2 years old.

Well its not actually 'required' in NY so not every doc may give it. *shrug* I know they never mentioned in when I was in NY it was her first vaccination set here in TX that she got it.
But no reaction to it at all.

He's never had it. She asked if I wanted it last year and I never did it.

Hmmm- then I wonder if she got it.
I don't recall. They all start to sound the same after awhile!

Hep A is NOT required in NY, this is true.
My ped who gives and supports all vaccines told me she is ok if I skip this one. So far, we haven't gotten it at almost 4 years old.
