Flu and Whooping cough vaccine...
Hello ladies, My OB suggested that I get these vaccines. I am currently 36 weeks. I have never had the flu in my life and never got the flu shot. I was thinking of not getting this but getting the whooping cough one. What is everyones thoughts on this or experience?
Thanks

Can you get it after you deliver? I wouldn't at 36 weeks.

I got the whooping shot 3 days after I delivered and plan to get the flu shot next month.

Flu and Whooping cough vaccine...
I skipped both.
ETA: i never get the flu shot. I did when I was younger but got very sick due to it, so I don't anymore. Ironically I generally don't get the flu. Though i did get the H1N1 last year, it passed uneventfully. Perhaps because my body has fought off other near flu-type illnesses for so long? Meh.
Whooping cough sounds like a good idea, but I didn't only because it wasn't that big of a deal 4yrs ago. I still won't now.

I'd wait on both. I had the pertussis shot a week or so after I delivered. I usually get the flu shot in November, but if you don't want one I'd just be diligent about avoiding indoor crowds until the baby is at least 8 weeks.

Re: Flu and Whooping cough vaccine...
I'd absolutely get both right now. I got my flu shot 4 weeks before I delivered. You are passing some antibodies to your baby which is so important because he/she can't get the flu or whooping cough vaccine until they are 6 months old (I think?) so what a great bonus and they'll get some protection for both. If your OB says it's ok, do it!
