So much anxiety about going back to work tomorrow

I go back to work tomorrow and will be leaving my little girl with my MIL and daycare, depending on the day. She has gotten to be so much more fun, with lots of smiles and laughter, and I'm so sad to be leaving her.

My DD has had a lot of eating issues, and we had them all almost under control with reflux meds and nutramigen. Now, for the past couple of days, she has started eating less again, and then screams for food much earlier than usual. I'm nervous that daycare won't spend as much time trying to feed her as we do, and that she won't eat enough. Also, DD, had been sleeping from 8-9 at night to 5-6 in the morning, with a dream feed. This morning, she woke up screaming at 3:30 and ate two ounces. I am so nervous about how I am going to function on my drive to work if this continues. I am not someone who functions well on little sleep.

Overall, I'm anxious about not being the one in control of DD's day, and not knowing every little detail of what happens. I hate that I have to leave her when she's this little.

Thanks for listening...I just needed to vent. I am not looking forward to tomorrow at all!

You can do it! It will take time to adjust to a routine and you may be tired in the beginning, but it all works out! So many of us have been through what you've been through, so come and vent if you need to, but always know that you are strong and can do it!

reflux meds dosing is based on weight. If she has recently gained she may need the dose upped. Check with your dr.

I am the same way. My DD'S are 3.5 and almost 1 and I hate leaving them and not knowing what they are doing all day too. Going back to work in September is always hard, and i am especially dreading this year because the baby is getting to be so much fun and doing new things every day. It takes about two weeks, but you adjust to it quickly.

ugh i wish i had some words of wisdom to make you feel better. i am a teacher too and am leaving my 14m DD tomorrow for the first time ever and i too am feeling extremely anxious and upset about it. everyone says it gets better, so lets hope.

Leaving my baby girl too tomorrow after and amazing summer together. I have been teary eyed all day. I will cry on my way to work tomorrow and probably for the first few days. Cant change the fact that we have to work so we can jusy come here and complain and cry together lol. Good luck. It gets easier just need to stay strong and positive

I know how you feel I am going back tomorrow also. I planned on taking another year but due to seniority issues I am forced to go back or lose my school, it sucks but we will both make it work, GOOD LUCK

I'm going back too. I cried as I bought my LIRR ticket and the poor guy at the counter had to reassure me that everything will be fine. :(

I know how you feel I am sending DD part time to daycare and it starts on Wed. I already know I will be a mess and I am alllowing myself only 5 min of car crying before I find something to do with myself for four hours.

It really will be okay - been there - I know how you feel - I was told and found it true that the anticipation of going back is harder than actually doing it !!!

Many hugs, Jackie. So so many hugs. It sucks, plain and simple. But as I know you know, so many of us have been through it, so vent and cry away. We're here for support.

I promise it gets easier!!!! Give it a few weeks and you'll adjust and develop your own routine. It all works out!

Plus you may really enjoy working. I know I do. I love the balance it gives me. I'm not cut out to be a sahm.
