Dr. Ronald Lewis - pediatric orthopedist

I just read a couple negative posts about this Dr. We have an appointment with him in September.

Can anyone share experiences with him - good or bad?

TIA!

While he's not the warmest fuzziest guy around, I think he's a great doctor. Came highly recommended from pm pediatrics when our little guy broke his leg, then we asked our pediatrician about him and he was also highly recommended.

He saw our little guy when he broke his leg and just last week for orthotics

Not super friendly but I think he's a great doctor. Took care of my DC and we avoided surgery because of him. I highly recommended him. I've sent friends to him and they agree not to friendly but he does his job and does it right. God luck

We saw him for a second opinion for DD a week and a half ago. His personality is kind of flat, but he explained things well and knew his stuff. I would go back to him.

We went to him when my DD broke her arm, she needed pins. We needed to get her right to the hospital for surgery that night. Is he warm and fuzzy, no. He was great in the hospital with us, yes.

I never waited more than a few minutes in the waiting room. we always had morning appointments. His assistant was super nice.

Fast forward to now. took DD for 4 month check up, had a 5:30 appt. about 4 other families were waiting, i had a feeling they were waiting awhile. I rescheduled for a daytime appt. as we were leaving a younger boy told me he has been waiting for three hours.Chat Icon

Not a huge fan. He is ok for childhood injuries (broken arms/sprained ankles etc) but I would NEVER recommend him for a developmental/neurological issue.

I am a therapist who has accompanied some of my kids to appts and his bedside manner can be darn right RUDE!

My DS just saw Dr. Lewis in his Huntington office. I have a very good friend who used to work with him and she warned me he is lacking in personality but said if her son ever had a orthopedic problem she would trust him.

I had no issues with him the day we went. My pediatrician called and asked if we could be seen that day and they told me to come right over. He was very thorough with my DS.

I have heard good things about Dr. Gaffney too.

I didn't like Lewis but we have been seeing Dr. Gaffney for years! He is excellent!! He actually is written about a lot. Can you switch? I think they are in the same place now right?

Dr. Gaffney caught something very serious that the ER did not! Thank God he second guessed them!

He's all business. But he does a wonderful job!! I'd rather a great dr than a great bedside manner. Jmo

We went to him for our ds and had a good experience. Not sure if he was just having a good day or what, but he fixed ds's issue right away
