How much cereal with formula does your 10 month old eat?
Since we started giving him more "real" food, there seems to be no room for cereal for the day - especially since he's eating more "real" breakfast food (like french toast sticks). But I know there's a lot of "good stuff" in both the cereal and the formula it's mixed with.
Should I squeeze it in daily? Or give it to him at least a few times a week as his "breakfast"? Or does it not matter so much?
I'm still using that bland Gerber Oatmeal, Mixed Grain Cereal, so I feel bad that he's eating something that's probably "gross" compared to everything else.

Re: How much cereal with formula does your 10 month old eat?
My dd is 9 1/2 months old and recently within the last week she stopped eating cereal. For breakfast she has a pancake or blueberry waffle with a fruit. Lunch she has a yogurt and dinner she has veggies with a meat, like chx. She gets 4 6oz bottles as well.

Sounds similar to our schedule, only we give just 2 bottles (6oz wakeup and 8-9oz bedtime). The doc said that amount was okay as long as he's getting yogurt/cheese during the day, as well.
Thanks... I don't feel so bad about the cereal thing.

Yeah, don't feel bad, some ppl never give cereal bc their children don't like it. They get most of their nutrition from bf/formula. DD also takes vitamins.

Re: How much cereal with formula does your 10 month old eat?
DS is almost 9 months and we don't do cereal. It all constipated him so much, and truthfully, it was gross so I stopped it. I'm going to try regular oatmeal soon, not a fan of the baby stuff. He's EBF and has vitamins, plus eats every type of veggie adn fruit so I'm not concerned. Breakfast is usually yogurt and/or fruit.

No cereal since dd was 7 or 8 months, everything was too constipating no matter what i did, it was so terrible for her. I figure dd is getting her grains from the waffles, bread, puffs, ect. We still give baby food jars occasionally which sometimes contain oatmeal.

Re: How much cereal with formula does your 10 month old eat?
I give cereal for breakfast a few times a week for the iron mostly since iron deficiency is a big issue and I'm paranoid, haha. I haven't given it plain since she was 6 months, I mix in fruit or yogurt, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc, so it has some flavor.
This morning she had cereal mixed with 1/2 a banana yogurt and some blueberries :)

we stopped cereal around 11m when she stopped wanting to eat from a spoon. i dont think it matters if you dont want to give it as long as they are getting adequate nutrition and vitamins elsewhere.
