When did your LO start rolling over?

My DD is 6.5 months old and she hasnt started rolling over yet.

She has rolled over both from front to back and back to front-- but only once or twice and once was in her sleep!

She sits up unassisted and loves sitting up and will push up on her hands when placed on her tummy.. but no rolling over..

When did your LO start rolling over regularly? Should I be concerned?

If she's sitting up unassisted, I probably wouldn't be that worried.

Logan rolled both ways at 4.5 months.

Stella and Hudson were preemies, so this is based on their actual (not adjusted) age.
Stella can roll belly to back (she's 4.5 months also) but not back to belly.

Re: When did your LO start rolling over?

My DS is not a big roller. By 5 months he was sitting beautifully. By 6 months, he could roll each way, but didn't really do it. Now at almost 9 months, and beginning to crawl, he sometimes rolls in his sleep, but rolling is not a way he gets around. Now he prefers to scoot around on his bottom, he doesn't enjoy being on his belly or back. At 7 months the dr. said as long as he could roll, they weren't concerned if they actually did it.

Re: When did your LO start rolling over?

My DD rolled from belly to back by about 3 months. I assumed the other way would follow easily. By 6.5 months she had rolled from back to belly only a couple of times. Then all of a sudden close to 7 months she became a professional roller. It was a matter of days. Then literally the next week she started crawling. It's a modified army crawl but nonetheless she can cross the room easily in a minute. Chat Icon She is now 7.5 months and she is a completely different baby (mobility wise) than she was at 6.5 months. It can happen fast!!!! I was getting worried too but now I am exhausted keeping up!! lol

I wouldn't be concerned - she has done it and can sit up. Sounds like she just doesn't want to!

DS rolled belly to back at 3 1/2 months and back to belly at 5 months. After that, he only rolled if he didn't want to be in the position we put him in - he wasn't one to roll across the room or anything.

Re: When did your LO start rolling over?

My DS was a late roller, I think around 6 months until he did it consistently. The doctors were not worried as it is not a milestone. He is a big boy and they attributed it to that. Now at 9 months he is starting to crawl (has been trying for about a month). HTH

Re: When did your LO start rolling over?

My DS was a slow roller. I thought he would never roll over. He didnt start doing it until a little after 6 months. My ped was not concerned. He was a very large baby. Still at 10 months, hes not a big roller. He can do it, he just chooses not to.
