Help!! My DD wont stop rolling!!

So my DD has mastered the art of rolling from her back to her stomach. She did it for the first time on Friday and has been non stop ever since.

The problem is, she sleeps on her back and now has begun to even roll in her sleep, which is waking her up because she hasnt figured out how to roll back on her back. So she starts to cry and even after I flip her back on her back, she cant fall right back to sleep. So it is disrupting her sleep and mineChat Icon

I dont want to revert back to putting her in the sleep positioner. So what have you ladies done?

Do I continue to just keep waking up to flip her back over and then have to take her out of crib and soothe her back to sleep or just let her cry a bit and figure out how to roll back on her own. She will be 5 mths on Friday.

Suggestions pleaseChat Icon

I remember this phase, it lasted about a week. At 6 month appt, dr said it was fine that he stays on his belly. Once it stops waking her up, she should sleep great.

I used to go in and flip her back over. It really should only take a few days until she either figures out how to get back over OR gets used to sleeping on her belly. Until then, I would help her out though...JMO.

Thanx ladies.

Yes, I will just stick it out and keep flipping her over. I cant bare to hear her cry in agony. Hopefully she will get it soon and be able to flip back over on her own.

I always flip her over. Sometimes we carry on for an hour with the rolling over, her flipping out, me going in and putting her on her back. She eventually dozes off and I gently roll her onto her back.

we have the opposite problem - our belly sleeper is rolling like crazy onto her back and wakes herself up! It gets frustruating - but hopefully it wont last too long and both our children will learn to roll the other way!Chat Icon
