bouncer vs swing opinions BTDT

I got both for my shower. Now that i look at them I wonder if I need both?

Im not sure if I should keep one over the other so im reaching out to see which is most used. My friends all had swings and swear by them but do I need something that vibrates?

thanks

For our kids both were/are needed. They both loved them at different times. If you have both I would keep them. The swing was an essential the 1st 3 months. and I seriously would sell a kidney to have oneChat Icon The bouncer is nice for having them in the kitchen basemet and so on. Honestly...keep both!

Re: bouncer vs swing opinions BTDT

DD hated being in the swing. She LOVED the bouncy seat! Don't know which one you got, but the one we had, it was self-propelled bouncing (like if she kicked her legs, the seat itself bounced a little) and it had the bar of toys above it to play with. I put her in a friend's snug a bunny bouncer a few times and she HATED that too -- she likes to be able to move and move herself. We used the bouncy seat until the day she climbed out of it (while still strapped in) -- probably almost 6 months! I had her in it every time I showered, when I was cooking meals, etc. It was also super portable to bring to the IL's or a friend's house.

DD slept in the rock n play sleeper so we didn't want her to be in that all day, so we used the bouncy seat as an alternative place to put her down safely when we needed her contained (as opposed to rolling all over the house which she did before she could crawl).

I know a lot of people say their babies adore the swing. Mine didn't. I suggest keeping both until you meet your baby and see what they like.

ETA: We rarely turned on the vibration feature of the bouncy seat.

i would keep both if you got both. You never know what you're baby will like. If they like one over the other, your next baby may be different.

Keep both - they serve 2 different purposes. Besides, there is only so much to do w a newborn in a given day. Moving them from the swing to the bouncy at least adds some variety!

my DD hated a swing and loved the bouncer for a while, then she hated the bouncer and loved the swing, so I was glad I had both. I would keep both.

Re: bouncer vs swing opinions BTDT

I voted for swing but I agree with the others about keeping both. The swing is awesome for my fussy baby. He actually sleeps in it overnight (next to my bed). I will soon transition into his crib, which he has yet to really sleep in at 14wks.

The bouncer will not be used till later, once he can sit up or hold his head up.
Unless ur talking bouncer seat which I did'nt put DS in until 12 weeks cause he didnt like it before then.

Keep both. You don't know what the baby will prefer.
