At what age did you start adding Rice to LOs bottle?
My ped thinks my is showing signs of reflux and wants to put him on meds, im wondering if rice would help as a first defense before jumping to meds

Never. That's really only for babies with reflux.

I only added it to DS's bottles when the pedi GI told us too.. It really didn't help. He was about 4 weeks old..

I tried the enfamil AR before I did the rice. But since she still had reflux I added rice at about 3-4 weeks. Similac RS is the same as the enfamil AR.
With DS we had to do the mess. The rice didn't work. That was at about 2 weeks

never and my dd had reflux and colic. My ped does not believe it helps with either.

Both my kids had rice cereal added to their bottles, and it was a lifesaver! It doesn't work for everyone, but it did for us. With DS we started when he was around 8 weeks.
Both my ped and DH (he's in peds) wanted to put DS on Zantac or Axid, but I wanted to try rice cereal first. So we compromised- I got to try adding rice cereal first, and if it didn't seem to make a difference then he was to be put on meds. Rice cereal worked like a charm. He became a happy baby and no meds were needed.
I BF'd DD, and she was considered a happy spitter up until 4 1/2 months when it turned out to be reflux. I decided to try Axid first with her, and she was miserable. She kept vomiting up the Axid because of the taste. I decided to go back to trying rice cereal, and it worked beautifully!
For both kids I added 1 tsp rice cereal per oz of BM to their bottles. The bigger PITA was trying to get them to drink it out of a bottle with a y-cut nipple!

This is my exact situation too, thanks for responding !! I will try the rice for a week or two before moving on to Axid.
