Hiiii!!! Chat Icon

My goal was to have Jack off by 18 months. He ended up off by 15 just by chance, it just sort of happened.

Arnie (our ped) said that he didn't care how long he took the bottle if it was something that gave him comfort he really didn't see any reason to take it away from him.

I wanted him off of bottles because you know how obsessed he was with them at one point, and I knew we were trying to get preggo - that I pictured myself wrestling the baby's bottle out of his hands! Chat Icon

ETA: I don't feel like Mason really likes the bottle that much so you could probably take it away and have him drinking the same amount of milk in no time. How many ounces is he drinking from the sippys now? How many from the bottle?

like 12-16 oz a day just 2 bottle a day. Should I space it out during the day then in a sippy cup? If he will drink it. He has the paci to go to bed. I feel like.

We were told he should be off by 18 months, and he wound up being off by 13 months or so. It went faster than I expected--he didn't seem too attached to his bottle.

Re: what age is to old to be on a bottle

When does he get the bottles? In the morning? Before bed? After a nap?

What I did with Jack was substitute the bottle he HAD TO HAVE for a sippy cup with milk. Once he got the hang out it he started to drink the milk out of the sippy instead of the bottles. Is that making sense?

I would def. still give him the paci, don't worry about that just yet! Chat Icon

ETA: And, to answer your original question - isn't Gianna still on bottles, and she's four Chat Icon - so I think you have plenty of time! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don't think there is a set rule. DD was off by 14 months, my goal was before 18 months.

Ok so he has a bottle as soon as he wakes up and right before bed. So I will make an effort to put his milk in the cup! I guess he is not to old yet thanks

So D we are going upstate Sat. I am not sure if I will be sleeping in the RV thing lol. We may come home that night. I am not sure how I feel about this.....

Re: what age is to old to be on a bottle

In my mind age 2 is too old to be on the bottle. But my ped told me 15 months. My goal was 18 months but I just didnt have the heart to take it away, its DS's only comfort item.

DS is 18 months as we are transitioning now...I went with a 2 week plan....week 1 only gets his AM and bedtime bottles. During hte day if he wants milk its in his sippy! Week 2 he only gets his Am bottle (that is the one he is MOST attached to) and then week 3 NO bottles!

The first few days he didnt drink much milk from his sippy, but today he drake about 6 oz from his sippy after complaining that he wanted a bottle not a cup!
