What time do you/did you put your 6-8 week old to bed?

I'm struggling with the desire to have a schedule, but wonder if I'm pushing for one too early. What time did you put your 6-8 week old to bed and how long were they awake before bedtime? For example, DS usually sleeps from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and goes to bed at 9:30 pm so he's awake 2 hours between nap and bedtime. Tonight he slept until 8:30 pm. Is it reasonable to just extend bedtime by hour and put him to bed at 10:30 pm? Also, when do they start to go to bed earlier?

At that point DD was going to sleep anywhere from 11-12 and sleeping until 6-8am.

We really just followed her patterns, and I never tried to put her to sleep much earlier because I was so afraid she would wake up at some crazy time in the morning!

When DS was that young, I really didn't "put" him to sleep at any particular time. We really didn't establish a schedule until his body put himself on one. I'd say maybe 4 months or so. He really didn't sleep for more than 4 hours at a time until he was around 3-4 months. I think it's still too early for a sleep schedule at this age. Good luck.

At that age both my sons bedtime was between 9-10pm.
At 3 months it was 9pm
At 4 months I started with 8pm.
Now at 5 months its 7:30/8pm

Let me tell you getting into a good routine/schedule with DC#2 was really hard. I still struggle with it sometimes because I need DS2s schedule to work around DS1s schedule.
Its quite a balancing act. So dont feel bad!! Probably took me 4 months to figure SOMETHING out and I am still tinkering with it regularly.

DS goes to bed between 8-9. He's 10 weeks old. He should go to bed between 7-8 but DS1 bedtime is 730. I keep DS2 up after he wakes up around 5/6 until I'm ready to put him to bed.

At that age, it was around 10pm. I'd put him down for the night when I went to bed. It gradually got earlier and by 5 months or so, he was going down at 6:30-7.

I think at that age DD was going to bed at like 10:00-10:30 or so...just this week at 4 months she has started going to sleep at 8pm (all on her own I didn't try for it at all) and sleeping until about 7am.

At that age, DS went to bed at 10 or 11 and slept until 6.
