Old wives tale (moon related)
I was at a block party yesterday, and this woman told me on the 10th full moon of your pregnancy is when things start to stir inside & get moving. She said some old man told her that when she was pregnant and thought to herself "yeah oookay ya kook!" well the day after the 10th full moon she went into labor.
If this old wives tale has any truth, I won't be in labor till 8/13 or so  
I don't believe in this, or maybe I don't want to believe I'll be almost 10 days late

hmmm 10 full moons puts me at dec 10th. Thats 3 1/2 weeks after my E.D.D. But 9 full moons put me at Nov. 10th. Which is DH's bday. Id like that or the 11th which would be 11/11/11. That would be fun!

IDK but my old italian aunt told me the same thing but it wasnt the 10th full moon it was just the nearest full moon to your edd and the next full moon is July 15th!!!!
Im due 7/29 but have this feeling its sooner, exactly feel its gonna be the week of the 15th, so we will see.

Im due 7/29 but have this feeling its sooner, exactly feel its gonna be the week of the 15th, so we will see.
My Due date was changed from 8/5 to 7/29 then back to 8/5. So I would like to take the 7/15 full moon as well

I just checked. My EDD is 7/26 and the full moon is on 7/15. yikes! I better get going on things that need to be done. (pack bag, set up bassinet, clean, buy nursing tanks) oh boy!

I actually read something once that had studied the numbers in all different hospitals and it was found that there is a statistically significant increase in births during a full moon. It was saying that it had something to do with the gravitational pull created by the full moon affecting the woman's body.

I went back to see for DS#1 - he was born exactly in between the two full moons...I guess that's why the hospital wasn't full?
DS#2 was 8 days before (but that was scheduled) but the hospital was packed.
DD is scheduled between 2 full moons...hopefully that means a quiet hospital!
I did talk to the nurses and they said that the only thing that really affects the amount of births is the full moon.

I've been thinking this the whole time. I'm due 10/12 and there is a full moon 10/11, so I keep saying I'm delivering 10/11. Also, you are suppose to ovulate around full moons. I think I ovulated the day after the full moon in January for this pregnancy.

My Lamaze class was run by a Labor & Delivery nurse, and at our last class, she told us that there were 44 babies in the nursery, when on an average day there are about 25. She said it happens when there's a full moon! And she's worked there for like 20 years. So with all her experience, she really believes that a full moon has influence on women going into labor. I think the "10th full moon" thing is just another way of saying "the full moon that happens when you're 9 months pregnant." So... sounds pretty good to me!

Just saw this. This puts me 5 days later than my EDD from RE but only 2 days later than OB EDD. Either way, no 2011 baby.

well, my EDD is exactly between the full moon in Sept and the one in Oct
so i'll either be 2 weeks early, or 2 weeks late!

The full moon for September is 11 days past my due date. My office will only let me go 1 week late...hopefully this is not true and I won't have to be induced.
