Another interesting old wives tale I never heard before....

I met a woman yesterday who had this gorgeous 8 wk old son, with a head of black hair like you wouldn't believe - I mean, it looked like Suri Cruise's hair - little boy - gorgeous....

of course, I commented on his hair... the mom told me she had heart burn like you wouldnt believe. She kept mentioning the heart burn as if it had a connection to the hair - I finally asked her if heart burn is supposed to be linked to having a baby with a full head of hair, and she said its one of those old wives tales...

Has anyone heard anything like that?

Yep. It's a pretty common one.

My mom swears it's true. I was bald as daddy warbucks when I was born and she had no heartburn.

My sister had CRAZY amounts of hair and my mom had heartburn the whole time.

I've heard of that - when my sisiter had my niece she suffered from heartburn for the entire pregnancy & that is what everyone told her. My niece was born with hair all over her entire body! It shed off, of course within a few weeks, but it was pretty funny!

I have and I don't think it's true. I know a couple of people who had babies with full heads of hair and zero heartburn. I had a lot of heartburn with Damien and he was a baldy

I and pretty bad heartburn with my 1st pregnancy and Jake was born with very little hair.

I have had a lot of heartburn recently - and that's all I keep hearing "Oh! Your baby will come out with a full head of hair!".
I will let you know in about 6 weeks!

heard it...NOT true.

I had a tad of heartburn and DD was born with a full head of it (just like me when I was born)

That 's what everyone is telling me since heartburn is the only symptom I have...

I've heard it too. I've had very little to no heartburn...so we'll see!!!

yea I heard that. Although I had zero heartburn, my son was born with a full head of hair

My sister in-law had bad hurt burn and my nephew came out with a head of black hair and alot of it.

Well if you look on the celebrity board (like I just did) and see the pics of Suri Cruise, all I could think was - wow Katie must have had some major heartburn!!

I have heard that as well and it was sooo true for me!!! I had a TON of heartburn and Sydney was born with a nice head of hair... here she is on her 2nd day....

I've heard it and totally don't believe it. I had killer heartburn, DD didn't have much hair.

Then again, I really don't believe *any* of the wives tales.

my DD was born with hair and the heartburn at the end of my pregnancy was intense. So i can support that tale.

I had awful heartburn during my 1st pregnancy and my DS had alot of hair.

i never had any heartburn and samantha has a full head of hair....

I had zero heartburn up until the very end of the pregnancy, when I started having a tiny bit of it (ironically, I suffer from acid reflux and usually take Nexium for it - but shockingly it never flared up during the pregnancy )

DS was born with an 'average' amount of hair..not a ton, but not nearly a baldy. So I'm not sure if I support that old wives tale or not

Yes I've heard that too - can't tell you whether or not it was true for me just yet.

I had such bad heartburn I was convinced my baby would have a lot of hair and sure enough, he did.

Yes, I have heard of it. As far as any truth to it.. it's just like every other wives tale...
I have periodic heartburn, not as bad as some, so I guess my little girl will have a little bit of hair?
