hey guys! i had my baby...
two weeks early!! we got home from the hospital on wednesday. it has been both incredibly amazing and overwhelming, though i think now we are beginning to find our groove.
on monday i went to the doctor (as i had been twice a week since they told me she was measuring small in may) and they thought my fluid has significantly decreased. my BP was also elevated, so they sent me to NSUH for prolonged monitoring. they wanted me to sit on the NST machine for 4-5 hours. so i was on it for an hour and everything looked perfect and dr prince said i would likely be going home. i was a little disappointed but also a little happy to be going home. then, within 5 minutes everything changed. baby had a major deceleration in heart rate when i had a small contraction and BOOM. before i knew it, they were talking about inducing me and breaking my water then and there. it was quite a shock. so i had my husband rush over (after just telling him he could take his time) and things moved pretty quickly from there. i started pitocin which was NOT fun and made the contractions come fast and hard. the doctor broke my water which was also pretty painful. i had an epi bc i started dialiating very quickly and before i knew it i was pushing. i pushed for an hour and then her heartrate started to decelerate again and it was either a c-section or the forceps. at that point i just wanted to be shot and kept just saying "help me" bc it hurt so badly. so the doc made the quick decision for a forceps delivery. immediately 15 people were in the room, lots of activity and then she was there. start to finish, the entire thing took 6 hours. it was crazy! and my beautiful baby girl, vivienne michaela, was worth every minute. though honestly, they say you forget the pain of birth but i dont know when bc i still havent forgotten anything. i have a third degree tear which has been rough to recover from but every day it feels a but better.
anyway, here is my beautiful girl vivienne, 5 lbs 12 oz.. we love her so much already.
