just wondering - if you worked for an obgyn, would you have them become your Dr & deliver your baby?
I would think it would be uncomfortable to have your boss in that area, no?

my husband pointed out that one of the girls/with baby/in hospital/with dr pictures framed in our doctor's office looked like one of the office workers, but we were not positive.
I think its awkward now! I can't imagine if I knew him professional!!

My SIL is doing that, they give her free OB care and free delivery as long as she has all her stuff done in that office. She is 6 months.

Absolutely without a doubt YES! I love my doctor, the PA & the rest of the team. I'm sure they have seen it all so I would not feel uncomfortable in any shape or form!

Re: just wondering - if you worked for an obgyn, would you have them become your Dr & deliver your baby?
Its weird, but I guess to the doctor its all the same. They don't see our girl parts the same way, I don't think, kwim? If I thought s/he was the best, I'd probably do it.
At my perinatologist, his nurse was definitely his patient. Its a little different because he didn't deliver her, but he did do internal sonos on her. And to be honest, if I worked for him, I'd want to use him too!

Yes, I'm sure they've seen it all plus some that we can't imagine but I just can't get past the fact that this person is your supervisor & will probably be wrist deep in bodily excretions if delivering vaginally. I guess I'm prudish

No way, too weird. Actually, 1 of the bosses has a brother that's an OB & I wouldn't even go to him because they look too alike!
I'd like some things (and places ) to remain private!

This could be a deciding factor!

Re: just wondering - if you worked for an obgyn, would you have them become your Dr & deliver your baby?
i would, and i am i worked for an ob/gyn from 18-24... the doctor i worked for was a male, and i only went to him as my gyn probably 4x due to problems that the NP couldn't take the reigns with. for my yearly exams etc i went to the nurse practioner in the office... she treated me like her own child and still does. i continued going to that office in the years i stopped working for them... and i cannot tell you how so many of them were just elated for me when i came in w/the news that i was TTC and then finally with my BFP. it feels so good to be close to them, know that i will get a little extra attention and special treatment. i trust that office 100% and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. my NP is also a midwife now and can deliver. also, my mom happened to be a labor & delivery room nurse for 30 years in the hopsital i will be delivering at, and worked with my doctor for a portion of them. that's how i originally got the job!

I would be uncomfortable, but i'd feel good about working for a obgyn just incase i had any complications.
