Between the growth hormones, antibiotics, and whatever else can get into the milk, I don't see why anyone wouldn't do organic for their children considering how much milk they drink per day! It's just not worth the $1 I'd save.....

I know people are going to say your answer is fightin' words, lol, but I agree. With the amount of milk ds drinks I just can't see not buying organic for the extra $2 a week.

Re: Curious...regular milk or organic?

from a dietitian standpoint...organic milk is not a "necessity" b/c the cow's liver processes any "chemicals". However, I do buy milk w/o antibiotics and hormones..which is most milks at this point.

why would they tell BF moms not to take drugs, if their liver processed all the chemicals?

Re: Curious...regular milk or organic?

I switched to all organic dairy when I was pregnant with my first child and never looked back. Both my kids never had non-organic dairy for the first 2 years of their lives. After that i am sure there were occasional slips simply because we would go out with them more often.

Completely agree with whoever posted about children going through early puberty because all of the hormones they put in produce. THAT'S the reason!

How do I know Stop and Shop isn't throwing regular apples in with the so called organic ones and just doubling the price.
I never got that...

Believe me, you can tell when fruit/veggies are organic.

Exactly, and same goes for meat and dairy. Once you taste organic milk you can never go back to the regular one, it's just not the same! Buy 2 chickens, one organic, one Perdue and roast them in the oven exactly the same way, with exactly the same herbs and spices: they will taste different, with organic being a thousands times better. (Even my completely clueless husband started commenting on how much better organic chicken tastes)

And the apples... ah, the apples! Organic apples taste just the same as I used to eat them fresh picked from my grandmothers garden. And they actually smell like apples should. You can't get fooled here!

I plan on using organic. They just drink SO much of it - it is not something they have once a week or once a month. Every single day, they drink it all day long so I will stick with organic. I would say 90% of her diet is organic at this point (before milk).

We use organic milk, eggs, cheese, and produce and chicken. I do try to get my other meats as well but the mentioned stuff is always organic.

While I do buy organic milk for my kids, different things are important to different people. No reason to wonder why some people don't...different strokes for different folks.

Exactly.

We do not buy organic, but do buy hormone free milk.

I actually have tried organic milk and didn't like it at all.
And organic yogurt- lets just say I gagged on it. It was disgusting.
I just can't get used to it for some reason.
