Creepy tea cup. Any antique buffs know?
I went to a vintage/antique home decor store in Greenport today. Lots of cool stuff.
they had these tea cups with faces on it, winking and smirking. I wanted to get one but they kind of creeped me out (even though I thought they were cool).
I wish I would have gotten one, so now I'm trying to google it so I can find out who made them or what the history is.
Here is a pic I found of one (but it was on etsy and sold, so no history info)
Anyone know? this is what they look like:

I found it! They're from Staffordshire England and were promotional items from Lipton Tea in the 1950s

Thank you so much! I have no idea why they fascinated me. I may have to go back and get one.

I have one in my cupboard, but it says BAILEYS on the eyebrow. I am thinking it is a rip off.I must have gotten it from some tea/coffee gift basket many christmases ago.

Any antique shops that are closer to Holbrook area?

there are, but now I can't think of any. The place in Greenport had a handful of them. I also see you can purchase them online, too.
So different and quirky and I agree with a PP that it would creep me out each time I opened up the cabinet!
