she is prol super excited to be a grandma and its overly being cute which is turing so NOT cute.. haha. try and let it go

my mom does it ALL the time, its annoying, but I don't say anything because I think it would hurt her feelings. I honestly think at times that my mom thinks DS is hers...again really annoying, but its the first grandbaby so although it drives me nuts I keep it to myself.

I expect my MIL to do this. If she does, it will annoy me primarily b/c she has to make EVERYTHING about her. It will bother me but honestly, there isn't much I can do. Hopefully I'll just remember, like everyone has said, that she is just excited.

Totally depends on who it's coming from.
My mom and my sister always say "how's my baby". I have no problem with them doing it at all. I do think I might have a problem with other people doing it.

I couldn't agree more. Grandmas love their grandchildren and while maybe it's a little annoying to you, be grateful you're child will have a grandma that loves him/her so much!
There are plenty of other things that will be more annoying when baby gets here! Trust me!

I see how it is annoying, and would annoy me too, but she is trying to be cute I'm sure. Now, do you want to hear something weird. My mom's bff's daughter just had a baby a month ago. Her MIL offered to watch the baby a few days a week. She found out her SIL has stopped using the MIL as a babysitter. She said to the SIL, I don't want to gossip, just tell me if you asked her to stop babysitting due to a safety issue. The SIL said no she stopped b/c the MIL became so obsessed with the baby that she caught her taking home the baby's used diapers. She couldn't bear to be away from him at all. That is insane if you ask me!

aww i just think she is super excited. Its weird to say that but i dont think she means it to hurt you. However, if it does continue then just talk to her. Let her know when she refers to your baby as her bnaby it freaks you out a bit.

definitely not cool.
my mil did that once with me after DD was born. she asked me "how's my baby?" i said "your baby, meaning your son, is fine, but My baby is...."
she kind of laughed, but I made my point and she hasn't done it since. She still says "grandma's girls" but whatever, its a huge improvment from "ga-ma" No idea where she got that word from.

A woman I work with had a grandson a few months ago and refers to him as "her baby" .. I think it's cute when she says it to ME but I don't think I'd like this AT ALL if my mom said it about MY baby!
