Anyone else have to take this... apparently my progesterone was low this last beta test on Friday...

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
I take it 3x/day plus 1/2 ml of progesteron in oil shot (I went thru IVF though so I think that's why I'm so loaded up on it too)
For the suppositories, I use Endometrin. I haven't had any side effects from them - other than when it gets down to the end, it's messy as it melts out of you . Make sure you wear a pad

I had to with my last pregnancy.
It was every other day...I did it right before bed wasn't crazy messy because I wasn't on my feet after.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
ive taken them before. if i were you i would ask your doctor to prescribe crinone instead. its much cleaner (less leakage) and IMO much more comfortable. its a gel that comes with an applicator.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
I am on Crinone and have been since 5 weeks. I also had low progesterone with DS and used them as well. You use them until 12 weeks when the placenta takes over. I have not had any side effects other than gross leaking of chunks of progesterone coming out (sorry TMI) so wear a liner. I insert them at night before bed so they can absorb overnight. I too take it once a day. Good luck!

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
What number does your doctor start prescribing progesterone at?
I think mine said 20 or lower?
I am asking because I should get my mid luteal results today and if my progesterone is low I'll need to use suppositories. My doctor wants to check the level every cycle we try in the event I become pregnant, so there is a chance I could be doing the monthly testing for awhile.
Last month we were not trying just checking the level and it was 23.6 which they said was okay.
Good luck with the suppositories Ang. I would see if you can use it before bed to minimize leakage.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
I was on Crinone for the first 12 weeks. I hated it. The discharge was gross. I took it at night, but after being on it a few weeks the discharge started. But I've heard that the other choices were worse.

I was on crinone with both pregnancies.... just a suggestion... I did it at night right before bed cause it gets a little messy.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
I just got the call from my doctor. My progesterone was 19.4 so I pick up my prescription today. She said because of my previous miscarriage they want me to use the progesterone even though my number is close to 20.
I'll know if I'm pregnant or not within the week I'm scared.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
They called in the prescription for me, but by the time I was about to pick up the prescription the OB office called me back to say the second round of blood work came back with my progesterone increased. So they said not to bother picking up the prescription.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories?
oh and and an added benefit is that I get biweekly sonograms until 12 weeks b/c of the low progesterone to make sure everything is ok so I get to see the baby everytime and get some peace of mind. Is it the same for you too?
