What is your opinion on these for your yard?
I saw them in Home Goods....they are called "Garden Gazing Balls" and you can cluster them together or alone around your mail box or like in a garden area, etc.
I've seen some sparkly and some not, and they intrigue me, but I don't know if they will end up looking too gaudy. They come in different colors, too.
Anyone have them? or have a neighbor that does? What do you think?

Re: What is your opinion on these for your yard?
gazing balls are very victorian, i wouldn't cluster them necessarily and some can look tacky. I have seen one person have a cluster of var. sizes (heights) and textures and it gave it a focus point near a very heavily planted area.
Personally I like them but only for a heavily planted area or garden not just standing in the middle of nowhere.

I actually love them. My girlfriend has them in her flower garden and they are beautiful. I do not love the giant ones that poke out of nowhere though.

Re: What is your opinion on these for your yard?
For my yard, no. I'm not really into decorations. I prefer natural things like flowers, herbs and vegetables.

Re: What is your opinion on these for your yard?
My mom has a few. The back of her yard is one very long flower bed and she has 2-3 randomly placed. They look pretty and are sort of unexpected because the flower beds are pretty dense. She also has a couple small ones hanging from a tree.
So, yes, I like them but in moderation. But they break easily so you have to put them out of reach of little ones. (My nephew broke one of my mom's.)

You find them in a lot of old victorian type gardens. I think there is a fine line between a classy one and a cheesy one though. I like the plain balls(not colored) and the bottom stand very simple.
and this would be a cheesy one

Re: What is your opinion on these for your yard?
I like the plain ones. The mosaic one reminds me of a '70s disco ball....
As others have said, if done right, it can look nice. Otherwise....
