Sorry, I wouldn't do it. I am more scared of what potential long term effects could be? They haven't been using it for that long.
I think of this too! You're essentially injecting poison into your body/face what's going to happen in 10-15 years?
You know what else I don't like, that any medical practitioner can take 1 class and be certified to administer it Dentists, chriopractors, OBGYNs, etc...

Re: Talk me into or out of this
we'll see tomorrow.
I've been all over the internet reading the good bad and ugly.
Not 100% convinced either way at this point.
I really just want to get my skin checked out and then take it from there but I did book the cosmetic consult.

My mother had it done and I no idea until she told me. She loved it and would do it again. She went to a plastic surgeon in Smithtown.

I do it every 3 months! I do it in the corners and it lifts the eye up a bit.
One of the perks for working part time for a plastic surgeon.... get my juvaderm and botox on a three month cycle! Love it!

Re: Talk me into or out of this
I went and didn't get it. The doc was not jumping on it for me.
Instead I am scheduled for a lymphatic facial to get my undereye darkness taken care of. That and some hylauronic eye cream. That was the part of my face that made me look the most tired.
The frown lines are secondary in my book.
So we'll start there. She thinks I can do botox but we will see how this helps my look and she thinks just a small amount of botox will be fine down the road.
If anyone wants the recommendation for this dermatologist, let me know. She was great.
Oh and the full body check was fine!

Re: Talk me into or out of this
Do it! I have had like 3 treatments so far and no one ever knows I have had it unless I told them. DH didnt even notice it. I love that it look away the lines that I had on my forehead. Very worth it and yes, if you dont like it, it will wear off after 3-5 months.
ETA: Just noticed I was replying after your update... oops

Re: Talk me into or out of this
DO IT! i know its not good to inject your body with that junk, but i think it makes such a positive change! my mother did it a few years back and it looked great and lasted about 6 months if im not mistaken. and if u dont end up liking it, it will wear off anyways. jmo

Re: Talk me into or out of this
I want to do it but am so afraid of being addicted to it...I wish it lasted longer.
I don't want to be injecting myself everything three months for the rest of my life...
If you do it in the future keep us updated.

We should have a botox party! lol if you host it, you can get yours for free!
the cost depends on how many units you need and how many areas you're getting it in.. I haven't done it (yet anyway) but looked into it.

Ehhh Botox freaks me out - it's Botulism . Botox is short for "botulinum toxin"
I also don't like the idea of not being able to make facial expressions for 6 months
This is what freaks me out as well as the thought of them accidentally hitting a nerve and permanently doing damage.
Totally a personal decision.

Yeah that does scare me but I think if you go to a board certified derm who you trust that's about as good as you can get.
I've had other "alterations" that were much more serious and lived. I've injected myself with human and synthetic hormones and lived..really, the chances that it makes me happy far outweigh the chances something will go wrong.
I will do it. Don't know when though.
