Homeowner/Neighbor drama to a new level
Wow. Just Wow. I normally don't post drama like this but this one is just  .
So it's not typical LIF home drama like neighbors parking in front of my house. Or people not mowing their lawn. Annoying dog barking all night. Kids smoking in the park across the street.
I am in the middle of doing a dormer on my house. The house is in the middle of getting framed now so you can actually see what it looks like. In fact the house will have a roof + windows and will be weather sealed by EOD tomorrow.
My contractor just called me saying the woman that lives six houses down the block from me is PIZZZZED that we are doing our dormer.
Apparently she already had and paid for plans to do a dormer sometime last year that she got a quote from my contractor. The architect she used (not my contractor's architect) drew up this super-elaborate house that would cost a fortune to build. So she was cheap and didn't do it and I suppose still has these plans that she paid for. She never bothered to revise the plans.
She actually had the nerve to call my contractor today to say that not only did we STEAL her plans and her design, but she claimed she is this bigshot lawyer and is going to sue him AND sue me for infringement for stealing her plans.
Woooooooooowwwwwww. LOL What a freakin' psycho. Thank god she is at least 5 houses down the block from me. Don't be jealous that I beat you to the punch and wasn't a cheapo like you are. And if you are such a great lawyer, how come you don't have the money to do your own dormer? Maybe you aren't as good of a lawyer as you think.
My contractor said that my plans look nothing like hers. We used different architects! I think this hilarious. I hope she sues me. I'd counter-sue for harassment and for bringing up a wrongful suit and wasting the court's time.
So now we have homeowners suing other homeowners for stealing their dormer plans.  I still can't believe she called my contractor to threaten us.
Bring it on b!tch.

all i can say is WOW! that is insane! some people are so greedy and lazy they will really try to sue for any reason just to get money. UNBELIEVABLE!

Some people are just insane.
In essence, she COULD have had a case IF she had used the same architect AND he gave you plans that someone else bought.
Which is not the case.
What is she sueing you for????? For you to use an architect she did not hire and your plans are "similar" to her ideas.
Good luck with that!!!!!

She's going to sue you, and the contractor because an architect (even if it WAS the same plan and the same architect) gave you the same plans he gave her ??
