 I witnessed something so upsetting
I just can't stop crying. I was meeting DH at our cabana for dinner tonight. I pulled into the lot and started getting everything out of the car. I immediately realize something is going on. A mom and another lady are running around lookingfor a little girl. Asking everyone. All the kids. She is no where. The mom looks into the parking lot and see's another lady getting in her car and says "please, don't let any cars leave,my daughter is missing and (she's crying now) I don't want anyone to take my little girl very smart thinking, but the ladydid nothing. Everyone around is searching for her and yelling her name. She is blonde, 2 or 3 (couldn't really hear) wearing abathing suit. It was so fast, but seemed like forever. I'm trying to get my kids out so I can go help when I hear someone yell "I found her" oh the relief! I immediately see the mom drop to her knees. I started crying. I can imagine what she felt because I know what I felt and I didn't know the girl. I can't stop crying, the sights and sounds of it all just keep replaying in my head. Thank God she is ok and is safe at home with her mommy.

Re: I witnessed something so upsetting
I witnessed something very similar in Disney a few yers ago, only the child had been missing for about an hour. They had the parents at the baby center area trying to calm them down, and the father was so upset and sobbing. They ended up finding the kid while we were at the baby center - thank god! It is so upsetting to witness something like that. I cannot imagine what I would do in that situation!

Re: I witnessed something so upsetting
That happened to me at Jones Beach when Aidan was 3... It was a crowded Saturday. I turned around for ONE SECOND to rinse off his pail and when I turned around, he was GONE.... Took about 15 minutes to find him, but he got FAR.. up by the parking lot.
Most terrifying 15 minutes of my life.... The beach was so crowded I thought he was gone. We were close to the water so you can imagine what thoughts were running through my mind

Re: I witnessed something so upsetting
Oh thank god! Thats terrifying.
Remember the old Childrens place in the mall when we were little, it had that playplace with the TV? Well DH was in that store that used to be pennys, that had the lunch counter (he was about 4) with his grandparents, and they took his eyes off him for ONE second and he was gone. He was lost for over an hour. They called his parents to tell them he was missing who immediately left work, they closed down the mall, had security there and called the cops. Guess where they eventually found him....just sitting in the playplace at Childrens place watching the TV!!! His grandmother still gets choked up when she talks about it.
