3 months and vitamins?
My DD is 3.5 months old and getting breast milk. The doctor recommended polyvisol and trivisol. Is this what everyone else is doing? I wanted to check before I started giving them.

They are iron supplements. My ped told me that if I EBF till 4m he'd put the baby on an iron supplement to help prevent anemia.
edited ... he said at 4m (not 6m), and its not just iron, its multi too

DS gets Tri-Vi-Sol which is a supplemental vitamin (A, C & D).

As per my pediatrician, I have been giving my DS Trivisol every day since he's less than a week old and I EBF. He loves it!

Our ped prescribed a vitamin for DS at his 6 month visit and he is EBF. Honestly though, I don't give it to him every day because he hates it and usually just spits it out. It tastes really bad.

We got ours at the 6 months visit for DD #!. DD #2 is almost 5 months and we weren't given them yet.

DS is EBF and gets vitamin D drops.. and he is 4.5 months old.

Every pediatrician is different...I've been using sunblock since he's a month old!! Others will say it's a no no...Maybe it's the same with vitamins. Are you still taking the pre-natals?

Yes, at that age we started both DS and DD on the Trivisol.
My ped said it was primarily for the Vitamin D (even though there are other vitamins also), which EBF babies are lacking because apparently that is like the only thing BM isn't good for. And especially since DD was born in December, I wasn't taking her outside to get Vitamin D from the sun.

DS started getting Tri-Vi-Sol by 1-2 weeks old. Some pediatricians will encourage BFing moms to give DC vitamins, but others won't say anything about it.
