October Mom group, when will you start planning the first birthday? Added questions.

If you have started what are your ideas and when is there BDAY?

Ds is the 29th and so close to halloween I am planning costumes and cute halloween theme.

Maybe disney halloween theme if i can find stuff i like.

Show pics and links if you have already done research.

When will you send invites out

Are you having it at a place or at home?

Big or really small?

Definitely have been thinking about it, but haven't planned anything yet. Only thing that has been determined is the date...10/16.

I booked the date (the 16th) and know I'll be doing a Cookie Monster theme. I haven't done any leg work yet other than searching for ideas on the internet. I still have to contact vendors for food, entertainment, balloons, and go and buy whatever I'll need. I guess I'll start early August....

were doing it at home on ds birthday 10/2. it falls on a sat so it works out great.

were doing a mickey mouse clubhouse theme bc ds loves mickey mouse. i got the party supplies already - the only reason i got it was bc it was 50% off.
i already booked mickey mouse to come to the house as a meet and greet - just to take pics etc.

well prob have about 30 people

My girls are the 9th. I have NO clue what to do. Don't know if I should have it at the house or rent a hall. We had a huge christening party for them so I'm not sure. Still deciding on a theme too. I want it to be perfect for them!

DS is 10/9 but we're having the party the weekend before at the house because on his actual birthday we want to do something just DH, DS, and I.

Im thinking a blues clues or ernie theme. Probably about 40-50ppl and we'll just rent at tent and have it catered. I've already started looking into invites so I'm just getting the ball rolling now. Plan to send out invites by end of August.

DD's birthday is the 28th.

For her first birthday we did a rather big party at home that we catered. I got a bounce-castle and a clown from twinkle town entertainment. We also had cookie monster and we did a monkey theme.

For her second birthday- kids only- did it @ my gym- and then did a brunch the next day for family.

For her third birthday- kids only- did it @ Diva Darlings in Amityville (was AWESOME) and didn't do a family party.

For her fourth- this year- we are going to Disney. The week before we'll do a friend party that I'll have at home.. I was going to do decorate your own cupcakes and make-your-own ice cream sundaes. Maybe I'll do a pinkalicious theme since DD likes the book but I'm not going to spend a fortune since Disney IS costing a fortune.

Their birthday and the party is Oct. 2nd. We are doing large...So far we have 91 adults and 48 kids on the guest list ... I wanna send invites out early, because I need a good headcount before buying supplies b/c of the amount of people. Will probably mail them out the last week in August ( 5 weeks before) ...

Were having it at where their Christening party was, a private hall we are renting.

We are doing a " mod Monkey theme" .

I need to figure out some form of entertainment!

DS's bday is th 18th. Nothing to really plan for us - we're just having Grandma & Grandpa over for the day with cake.

All we have is the date so far - DS' bday is October 3rd but we will be having his party on October 2nd (the 3rd will just be for DH, DS, me and grandma and grandpa).

We are still debating whether to have it outside at home (concerned about the temps) but catered BBQ or to have it at a restaurant.

Theme is up in the air but I'm thinking a safari theme for now. DH and I love the Wonder Pets but I'm not sure DS does

We are thinking maybe 50 people, not many kids though.

DS is the 22nd. we have a lot of oct birthdays, but DS is the only one that will matter this year..LOL

(DH is 10/3, dad is 10/10, mom is 10/29..whew..), SIL wedding is also October.

I live in PA but most of our family is in brooklyn/staten island/long island..so i was thinking of having a party at one of those jungle gym places with the kiddies in the family.

It will be hard to get everyone at our house, and i dont have the space for everyone. and who knows what it will be like to have everyone in my backyard.

Come august i'll probably start looking into places.

I think my theme is Blues clues b/c its the one show DS has a huge reaction too. He loves it!

DS's bday is the 25th
I have not planned anything yet, I know it will definately be at my house (that's just how both my fam and inlaws always do things) I guess my big question is to do it inside or outside.

I would LOVE love love to do an outside barn theme and rent animals the whole 9 yds...but I think its a little unrealistic budget wise. Either way I'll probably do the barn theme just tone it down a notch without the live animals.

I'm not sure when I'll plan this, going on lif I feel like I should have planned ages ago

DD is the 7th, I think we'll have it the 9th. It will be at home, I'll rent a tent just in case of rain (my house isn't big enough to accommodate all guests). We had a big christening and will probably scale it down for the birthday. We're looking at about 60 people (adults and kids). I'll do some cooking and cater the rest. I won't do invites till late August because I want to use a recent picture of her, and probably won't have a theme, maybe a princess theme but I'm not sure.

I am just going to have a family party in my house (I did the same for DS), however, this time I am not using the insanely priced caterer. I am going to go to cosi and get sandwiches and costco and get a cake. I spent way to much on DSs first birthday party. I am going to spend less and get her a better gift. I should have done the same for DS.

I have been planning DS's first birthday for months. He will be one on 10/24. We booked a hall and I know the theme. Fire trucks. I already have some decorations. The caterer has been picked too...I don't plan on leaving things to the last minute like I did with his Christening last month...Way too much stress...
