Yay or Nay with pics? (media unit)
We have a small awkard space where we need to hang our TV. The space will only fit a 42 inch media unit which seems hard to find. What do you think about this one? (those aren't drawers underneath, they are 2 doors)
There is also this matching media cabinet which would fit perfectly right to the left of the TV where there is a weird bump out where my chimney is.
Only problem is....I think the wood finishes are different. One is mohogany and one is espresso finish.

Re: Yay or Nay with pics? (media unit)
Personally, I never liked furniture that had a million drawers (or just the look of it)... It took me forever to find a bedroom set i liked bc of this one pet peeve of mine...
I dunno where you live but theres a place called furnakit that i swear by... theres one in holbrook, franklin sq, and i think 1 other location... they had tons of media units in there... granted you're putting it together yourself, but pretty decent stuff

Re: Yay or Nay with pics? (media unit)
I don't love it, but if you and DH love it, that is all that counts. And of course if it fits into your space.
There is a Furn-i-kit on Sunrise Hwy in Copiague. link
Have you checked out HomeDecorators.com and HomeDecoratorsoutlet.com?

Re: Yay or Nay with pics? (media unit)
i kind of like it - it reminds me of a Pottery Barn apothercary piece i really liked - but i do see how the hardware on the drawers looks a little libraryish...i don't think i would get both pieces, just one for under the TV maybe and skip the tower...

Re: Yay or Nay with pics? (media unit)
I personally love it, to me it looks like it could be a reclaimed piece of furniture from an old library since it has the library catalog look to it.

Re: Yay or Nay with pics? (media unit)
I dont love it.
If you cant find a stand that fits your space, I have seen pretty cool things people have done with old dressers from the Thrift store. The DoIt Yourself Magazine by Better Homes and Gardens has a lot of great ideas also. Here are a couple examples

Re: Yay or Nay with pics? (media unit)
I like the TV stand OR the other piece of furniture but not both together. I think the look of small drawers can be nicely done but I feel this is way too much little drawers in 1 room.
So I say pick one or the other.

I have the media cabinet...want to buy it? :)
It holds tons of CDs - we had it in our 2nd bedroom but now the whole room is white...

I love it but I would not do both pieces together. Too matchy for me. But I love the look of them.
