Re: Dr. Oz says no mineral foundation
What he said about lip gloss has always been true of basically ANYTHING we wear on our lips.... so it's been true for as long as women have been wearing lipstick so I'm not worrying about that.

Or we can keep using it and just wear this when putting on our make up in the morning. Problem solved.

It's not like you're snorting the stuff...
lol how original of you- look above
I didnt mean anything against you...Sorry if it came across that way
I meant it in the way that we can add that to our list of things that can kill us...plus, I think Dr. Oz does get carried away.
No worries, I thought it was funny that I said the same thing too!

Re: Dr. Oz says no mineral foundation
i mean, its not completely out there, but its definitely a stretch. I agree with those that say he's an alarmist.
I mean, if you go to the salon- think of what you inhale there. If a bus passes you, think about what that leaves behind. Blow dry your hair? might as well just curl up in your oven and end it all now!

It has been known for years that inhaling TALC (which is in some if not all of the Bare Mineral/mineral makeup) gets inhaled into your lungs and can cause Asthma. This is a fact forever, don't know how much "testing" is involved for makeup's long term use.

Re: Dr. Oz says no mineral foundation
my facialist said the same thing about the minerals when you have microderm abrasian. She feels the same way about you "breathing the stuff in"
She doesnt use it anymore, but does something else that is just as good.
I could see some truth to it, would i stop using it if i already do...probably not

Re: Dr. Oz says no mineral foundation
If you are ever concerned about the effects of a specific ingredient, just google it along with the letters MSDS. Then check the toxicological information section.
Its not true that all products go through extensive testing. I make skin care products so I know for sure that the final product does not. The individual ingredients will have an MSDS though.
MSDS for talc
But I wouldn't freak out either - almost EVERYTHING causes something negative nowadays.

Re: Dr. Oz says no mineral foundation
I have been really ignorant. I wear talc free makup, but I didn't realize that they still made blush where the first ingredient is talc. We rely on companies to protect us, and they may not. My friend's blush that she uses every day is full of talc--minerals or no minerals.
