I really hate public records!!!!
In my search to remain "anonymous" from my EXDH, well I just realized that I am completely vulverable. I had a terrible divorce with him, he has a gun, etc.. To the point that my attorney that a restraining order would be useless if you just decide to show up at my door and shoot us.
In a matter of 5 minutes, without even paying for anything, I was able to trace me (searching as if I had no idea of my current name!) to my current address. Full address and telephone number. My DH's name. Our phone number is under my DH, not even mentioned in the phone book.
I really think it is too easy to find people.
What happened to protect people's safety and privacy.
I don't disclose my information to banks, CC , businesses to have my information fully displayed for anyone to trace me and find me.
What if someone hear my name at a Dr. office, business, etc.. and decide to follow me and my son home. They can find us easily without even seeing someone following us. They can just look for us on the internet.
OK.. vent over! Now I will freak more that EXDH might show up at my door sometimes.
This is just scary!

Try going to jury duty- I wasin jury duty, in criminal court and they spelled our last names and first names in front of the criminal and he was allowed to have a pen and paper. Pretty scary stuff that is out there!

You can ask Google to unindex you so you don't appear in searches
I know that Zabasearch will take your info down if you send a written request in.
Start conquring the web site by site, in the meantime why don't you get a gun license and take lessons?
I actually found my lessons relaxing after a long week of work.

I agree with you, sometimes public records should be, well, public!
For your case, especially...BUT...I have to say if it wasnt for public records, I wouldnt have found my sister, who I've never met in my life-n this happened this week

I too feel we do not have enough privacy. I hate all the info out there on the internet. And sadly there isnt much control we have over it. Very upsetting.

I was able to google me. Then I got into those "people find" website from google, and sure enough I was there. When searching under my maiden name, anyone can see all my aliases including my married name, full address and DH's name. All of that for free.
