UPDATE We're HOME!!! Surgery went well...Now we're back in
Ethan's surgery went well. We were hoping to get out of the hospital on Sat, but we FINALLY went home this afternoon. 6 days was was too long! He was feeling ill (and lots of reflux) from being miserable in the hospital and not getting sleep, but he's already feeling a bit better just from being home. The dark sunken eyes are already looking better AND I got smiles within 5 minutes of being home.
He got a temporary ostomy. There's definitely a learning curve, but once we get the hang of it our lives will be much easier not to mention how much more comfortable he will be 
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers And boy are we happy to be home! Maybe now we can catch up on all the sleep we didn't get this week
UPDATE 01/18
Thanks so much everyone I just got a chance to come on quick.
So we wound up in the ER Wed night due to dehydration. Ethan looked like death with the dark, sunken eyes and wasn't keeping much in. We're still there I just came home to get a break, get some stuff...
Turns out some kids have trouble adjusting to not using the large intestine (where the fluid gets absorbed). The small intestine has to take over some of the jobs the Lg intestine used to do. So we're there until his body readjusts. We're hopeful it'll be soon. Sad to say some kids never recover and wind up on IV a long time until the procedure is reversed or changed. His numbers do show a big improvement, so there's no reason to believe that would happen.
I hope to back back on very soon telling you all we're home for good!

So happy all went well and that you're home. The ostomy is def a learning curve like you said but it will become as easy as anything else.
