- You cannot take pics without a DSLR. It becomes a requisite once you have a child.
- It's NOT OK to use the toilet water to mop floors
- There is an alive deadhorse
- People would take pics of people in Walmart

I really did learn this from LIF! I learned a lot about the proper care and treatment of companion animals and also that people who call themselves 'breeders' are not all created equally. And that if you are looking for a pet.. there are so many that need homes without having to spend $2000 on a purebreed.
I also learned that you can bread chicken cutlets the night before frying them. I haven't tried it yet - but it's info that I have for future reference.
I also learned a great recipe for Burnt Broccoli (Thank You Hayley!).

I think my fashion and decorating has vastly improved from the inspiration I see on LIF.
Most importantly I learned about the couch to 5k program from the lovely ladies on the diet board and they gave me so much support to keep going. Now I can run a full 30 minutes, and it is a great way to relieve stress as I'm finishing my dissertation.
I've learned a bunch of mortgage stuff that I'll need to know when we are ready to buy a house.
eta: okay these aren't things I did thousands of times and found out I did wrong, but they are still things I learned. Maybe I was doing fashion wrong though, LOL!

Ditto, along with a lot of other helpful tips for a first-time dog owner. I learned that there are some really horrendous things in pet food too.
I never knew about half the things I found out while buying my home. I learned about LIHP from Lorich and the Home board was crazy helpful with the endless questions about contracts, appraisals, GFE's...
I never knew there were such helpful people here that are willing to impart anything they've learned, informed opinions, and recommendations, all selflessly and in the hope that you can benefit from what they know.
With all the crap I've read and endured here, those people are why I will always hang around. They're invaluable to me.

That people who have never met in real life can show such love and compassion for each other in difficult times.
That even on the internet a large gathering of woman can create a catty Jr. HS environment.
I find LIF to be a great resource and am happy to be part of the community. All the different views and personalities of here really make it a fantastic place.

As someone who always considered herself not photogenic, I was amazed at the difference a good (DSLR) camera made in my pictures. It is a necessity now that I have a DS.
This sounds odd but I was always intimadated by the "popular" girls growing up. I love that LIF gives me a window on their style, shopping, home decor, etc.
